I had known this song for some time, but I've only formed a connection with it after somebody that I used to know turned away. I used to take long walks across the town and sing this song, and it helped to cope with the loss of that retarded whore.

This one's for someone I actually loved and still love. I never spoke to her about us drifting apart, I was scared to even talk about casual topics because I felt like a burden. The final couple of months for me were just touching and tearing back, silencing my thoughts and desperately wanting her to tell me it's my fault instead of watching her faltering on my horizon. The lyrics kind of seemed like nonsense before, but torment has opened my eyes.

I still remember listening to Ocean Machine for the first time so long ago and hearing it and being blown away by the main riff. It's still one of my favorites of his as well. |
