6:50am's Attempt At Boredom Relief
Well, I'm officially nocturnal.
I've just set my iTunes to shuffle and set play. Here's what it gave me, warts and all. Mostly warts, probably. *clicks* |
1 | Elliott Smith Good To Go
I'm not a massive fan of his self-titled but I really quite like this. It's one of his defeatist whisper-rants. Pretty good start. |
2 | Less Than Jake The Rest Of My Life
Haha. This is the ONLY LTJ song I have on my iTunes. I love it. Catchy as f**k and I adore the lyrics and drumbeat. Weirdly, it's a pretty depressing song, but it always makes me feel better about s**t. Cool. |
3 | Hanson Lost Without Each Other
YES! Here we go! This is more like the kind of thing I expected to crop up on a shuffle list. Shameful and bouncy teenie bopper music. Don't lie. You love it. |
4 | The Format A Save Situation
Haha. Apt title since this list has just been saved BIGTIIIIME. Dog Problems is a better album than I&L but I love both and the vocals on this track are awesome. Understated and beautiful. |
5 | Garth Brooks Friends In Low Places
I hate this. I like a couple of his tracks, the more ballady stuff, so I downloaded his Best Of. Mostly a mistake although his cover of To Make You Feel My Love is pretty decent. |
6 | Anberlin Paperthin Hymn
Yesssssss. Good stuff. "Who's gonna call on Sunday morning?! Who's gonna drive you home?!" Power. Energy. Anger. TUNE. |
7 | Sonic Youth Bubblegum
Intriguing. I forgot I had this, 'cause I still haven't gotten hold of any of their full albums, which I really should. Pretty disappointing alongside Kissability or Teenage Riot which are the other tracks of theirs I have on my iTunes. Meh. |
8 | The Clash Wrong 'Em Boyo
F**king song. I'm not sure I 'get' London Calling but this song turns me on big time. Good choosing, iTunes. |
9 | The Arcade Fire Neighborhood #2 (Laika)
What an album. What a band. WHAT a song. Love the distorted vocals and the concept of the song. Not as good as Tunnels. Easily brilliant though. |
10 | Jack's Mannequin Spinning
Everything in Transit was good but The Glass Passenger is actually my favourite JM album. Swim is such a good song; this is up there as well, catchy as hell chorus. Fantastic song. |
11 | Pink There You Go
Yep. There You Go. Next track please. *skips* |
12 | Embrace Come Back To What You Know
I have a soft spot for these guys. They can construct one hell of a melody and I'm a sucker for piano-pop. The way this climaxes about 3 times is just incredible. |
13 | Avril Lavigne Girlfriend
I have this album. And I like it. F**k you. |
14 | Eminem When I'm Gone
The song he retired on. Oh wait he's back. Oh well! One of the heavier songs of his later LPs, lots of emotional weight behind it. I just think the chorus is underwhelming, but the verses more than carry the song. |
15 | Explosions In The Sky It's Natural To Be Afraid
AOASIME is a bit disappointing in my opinion, and this track starts promisingly but never really hits me like anything off The Earth Is Not... or The Rescue. It's still decent, though. |
16 | Joy Division Love Will Tear Us Apart
Ha. Classic. What else can I say? |
17 | The Decemberists Of Angels And Angles
This is just beautiful. If you want to get a girl to fall in love with you, learn to play this. Perfect end to an album. Near-perfect acoustic song. |
18 | Yellowcard Down On My Head
Pop-punk is all over my iPod. Yellowcard are actually my most-listened to band on last.fm which is bullsh*t but only because when I listened to Viva La Vida non-stop last.fm wasn't working. Catchy as hell chorus. Enjoying it. |
19 | Los Campesinos! Ways To Make It Through The Wall
Meh. This is alright. Hand-claps and catchy guitars and teenage lyrics all over it. I just can't get too excited about these guys because of Johnny Foreigner. Although this is fairly good. Hmmm. Maybe I should listen to them again. JoFo, though...if you haven't heard them, DO IT. Soon. Now. |
20 | The Gaslight Anthem The '59 Sound
Such a generic ending in terms of my music :( I love this album & band but this is nowhere close to the best track on it. It still plays well though. |
