I've been here 20 years - granted not fully/entirely active during every month of that time - and never once remember a time when the add artist function was lost, broken, or otherwise unusable. Unless it was something that happened way back when mx at least occasionally popped his head in, I don't see this getting fixed. Any losses in functionality that have occurred within the past 4-5 years or so have essentially been lost for good. Someone correct me if I'm wrong?

Theoretically its not impossible to archive and transfer things like ratings for things that are user specific and the database of music is more than likely just an SQL server at its core. The harder part would be things like comments and threads. I wouldn't think the base of the site is unbelievably difficult to replicate since its based off a standard forum layout from the 2000s. Hardest part is honestly the user and site security features. Those would definitely need to be completely overhauled due to the outdated ones this site has.

This one has definitely had the symptoms with intermittent and prolonged slowdowns or loss of service. Especially the fact that its almost instantly kicking to "Server did not respond in time" or "Connection was reset". Again just throwing it out there, but my guess is the attack happened from like the 16th-17th, and these every now and then losses of service are due to the server having to sludge through all the useless packets and requests that piled up.

To me itâ€™s really about people bumping stuff that makes me wanna explore/revisit, and the discourse triggered by various lists that is a source of inspiration (and fun). RYM may have a larger catalog, but that in itself doesnâ€™t compete. I used to check allmusic frequently, and Iâ€™d still prefer that to RYM.

Hawks 06.21.25	RYM's community is dog shit agreed. However I've found lots of great stuff from lists on there and the charts. Some of the bm and dm lists on there are insanely in-depth and cool.

Sure, the database on Sput isn't as expansive as RYM's, but it's also much easier to add stuff here, so if there does happen to be something Sput doesn't have that's on RYM, it doesn't take much to add something here.
