Label: Capitol Records – SABB-12441
Format: 2 x Vinyl, LP, Album, Stereo, Jacksonville Pressing
Country: US
Released: Oct 14, 1985
Genre: Rock
Style: Heavy Metal

Without a doubt, my absolute favorite vinyl in my collection. I've always heard this was fantastic but never listened because I wanted it to be a somewhat authentic experience when I eventually did. A guy sold this to me at a vinyl dorks meet and greet in STL and I knew it was finally time. It sounds incredible. The band is on absolute fire. Immediately my favorite live album of all time.
2Metallica
Load

The rest of these are not in order. This one is special to me because I saw it on the wall for a stupid price for a long time before I'd finally had enough and picked it up. I love this album. Always have.

What Doesn't Kill You...

John L. himself shipped this to me. One of my favorite albums of all time, and in my mind it has been touched by one of it's creators and that somehow makes it more special. An under-represented, under-appreciated classic.

Mom came through at Christmas this year. Hunted down two first pressings, this one and a Canadian one. The fuckin' GOAT, Mom and the album, and I'll not hear otherwise.

Released: 1988

Mechanical Animals

Found it while traveling in St. Augustine, FL. Noticed immediately the tracks were out of order, which led me to learn about the alternate tracklisting in line with the concept.

This is here because of the sheer audacity of finding it where I did. There is a plant store in Fort Madison, IA near my hometown. This plant store also has a couple hundred vinyl. Which included a small metal section. Which somehow, amongst the Seether and Jane's Addiction and Smashing Pumpkins represses, also included this fuckin' thing. It blows my mind to this day and I felt sorry for the local metalhead whose wife cashed in his Opeth records for some fuckin succulents. They're in a good home now, my dude. RIP.

2016 – Europe
2 x Vinyl, LP, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue Red Pink Translucent
Candlelight Records – CANDLE711066

Again, found in a place not at all known for their metal selection. And certainly not for first presses.

Format: Vinyl, LP, Album
Country: US
Released: 2003

9The Bled
Found in the Flood

Just something about holding a physical copy of an album you love. Especially when you see it on the wall of a store, with a "*****'s pick - hidden gem!" sticker. ****** wasn't kidding. Repped this band hard back then.

Turns out my go-to album for "not sure what these guys are into but we're stuck in a car together" album is also amazing on the turntable. Safest crowd-pleaser I own.

Label: Suicide Squeeze – S 065, Suicide Squeeze – S-065

11Rosetta
The Galilean Satellites

I've said everything there is to say about this album, and would have faced an army of stallions in an open field to secure a copy. The fact that a couple years later I was able to get it signed by Mike Armine and Matt Weed (BJ wasn't feeling well and they had a different bassist that night...) was really special for me. This is one of the three or four most impactful, seismic albums of my life.

I'm not in the least bit guilty about anything I listen to, but the reaction of everyone I have ever personally known to me liking this band makes this the closest thing to a guilty pleasure in my library. I'm also infatuated with this cover, to this day.
