| FAVE 1977 ALBUMS
25 is not near enough for this project, good lord. ignore the caps lock. i dont feel like fixing it | 10 | | The Clash The Clash
Burn it all down, fuck yeah. I’m so bored with the usa…me too the clash, me too 4/5 | 9 | | Brian Eno Before and After Science
I’M ALWAYS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WHEN I TURN SOMETHING ON FROM THIS GUY. PRESUMABLY MADE BETWEEN DAVID BOWIE RECORDS, THIS IS A CLEAN-CUT FUNKY TAKE ON POP AND ROCK. EVERY NOISE IS PLACED WITH PRECISION. EXCELLENT PRODUCTION, AND FROM ENO WHAT ELSE COULD YOU EXPECT? 4/5 | 8 | | Suicide Suicide
Highlight of the first side is realizing m.i.a. Took that killer descending riff from ghost rider for born free. ALSO HEARING HIM YELP LIKE SOME SORT OF SCARED FOX. Second side IS DEFINITELY THE TENSE, ANXIOUS NIGHTMARE THAT IS FRANKIE TEARDROP. AND ALSO HEARING HIM YELP LIKE SOME SORT OF SCARED FOX. WE ARE ALL FRANKIES. WE ARE ALL LYING IN HELL
4/5 | 7 | | Talking Heads Talking Heads: 77
THIS FUNKY DEBUT FROM BYRNE AND CO. IS HOOK LADEN, JAMMED WITH GROOVES, AND OVERFLOWING WITH IDEAS. THE START OF AN INCREDIBLE FOUR ALBUM RUN. 4/5
Some civil servants are just like my loved ones
They work so hard and they try to be strong | 6 | | David Bowie Low
I love how heavy this sounds at times. Be my wife, sound and vision, the haunting warszawa, the meditative subterraneans…a veritable smorgasbord of art-rock. We can call it that. Let’s call it that. 4/5 | 5 | | Shakti Natural Elements
Explosive fusion of jazz and indian music. This is a record that rewards close listening, but just having it on perks my mood. 4.5/5 | 4 | | David Bowie "Heroes"
A nearly flawless record. Side A is a jumble of, angular, brash rock songs textured in the way that only the eno trilogy albums are. Side b is all texture, instrumentals that run the gamut from tense to anxious to serene. It’s capped off with a call back to side a - the almost odd-duck but more than serviceable secret life of arabia. . 4.5/5 | 3 | | Steely Dan Aja
Aja and deacon blues are 15 minutes of bliss. Rest of the record is so damn smooth i see why they’re the posterboys for yacht rock. 4.5/5 | 2 | | Billy Joel The Stranger
Holy shiiiiiiiiiiit 4.5/5 | 1 | | Fleetwood Mac Rumours
I’ll stand by this being the peak of pop-rock, with absolutely no skips. Each track is simple, but to a point of perfection. Mick’s drumming is on-point, Mcvie’s keys are central wherever they pop up, Lindsey’s solos are electric and never over-stay their welcome. That’s not to mention the lyrics - there’s nothing to improve upon there. It’s hook after hook after hook, and it doesn’t let up. The only way this is better is if you tack on Silver Springs, a bonus track that puts all of Rumours' themes of infidelity and jealousy and holding out hope for love to a devastating conclusion. 5/5 | |

03.13.25 | I found out that it takes about as long as 1 Frankie Teardrop for me to drive to work from home. Love knowing that Springsteen enjoys that tune so much that it inspired his work lol | tectactoe
