Top 10 Bomb The Music Industry! Songs

I downloaded a 2009 sampler off Quote Unquote today and heard the fully recorded version of 'Fresh Attitude Young Body' which will be on Scrambles, released on Jan 22nd. Im tres excited about this!
1Bomb The Music Industry!
Syke! Life Is Awesome!!!

It couldn't really be anything else, 'Syke!' is the quintissential BtMI song with a brilliant falstto/trumpet refrain that never fails to make me smile and the inspired triple-time speed up for the third verse.
2All Alone In My Big Empty Apartment

Starting with a single ukelele strumming along and gradually adding further instrumentation in, this tune is simple but is one of the most atmospheric BtMI songs - it sounds exactly like he IS all alone in a big empty apartment!
3Little Brother

Its a cover thats been on the bands myspace for a few months, but its brilliant for its great lyrics ("it was about this time I discovered a drug called crystal methamphetamine, and pretty soon I had my classmates hooked") and the fact that it is entirely played on a synth accompanied by some cheap electronic drums and sounds like it took about 5 minutes to record!
4Even Winning Feels Bad

After its simple stacattoed acoustic intro it leads into a stereo-panned descending guitar line that explodes into a swirl of crazy synths. Sitting on te beach listening to this song on headphones got me properly into BtMI! Fact.
5Stand There Till You're Sober

One of the best lyrics in any BtMI song. - everyone can relate to how everyone seems to be growing up except them. Throw in some backwards guitar and some rumbling distorted bass and you have a potential classic. If the band cared, that is.
6It Ceases To Be Whining If You're Still Shitting Blood

Somewhere in the middle, with sweeping strings in the background, Jeff Rosenstock croons "so write a song without a hook, remember why you wrote songs in the first place". Perfect.
7Congratulations John, On Joining Every Time I Die

Even though John DIDNT join Every Time I Die, this is a much better put down than any reggae or rap performer has ever managed, going straigh for emo jugular proclaiming "go stretch your ears and get a neck tattoo" and using some great metaphors like "are you gonna move up North and throw away your Yankees hat?" to demonstrate his fickle nature. But like I said, it didnt even happen!
825 Hour Goddam Telethon

Starting out as a typical BtMI ska tune with horns, it quickly morphs into a powerful chorus with smashing guitars and looping keyboards set to the question "or am I fucked this time?"
9Get Warmer

The title track of their least mental album nicely ties up the different elements of the bands sound, with an acoustic beginning that gradually develops over six minutes into a screaming refrain with several different melodies circling in the background.
10Fresh Attitude, Young Body

OK i've only listened to the full version about five times but it has enough twinkling piano and sound loops to get me excited for January 22nd so it must be pretty good!
