This is definitely not a classic Dream Theater album, even with MP here. It is, however, a great modern Dream Theater album, and it meets the standard set by the previous one (one of my favorites of 2021). It also shares the same main problem - an uninspired (relatively to the rest of the album) 20-minute album closer that feels like it's only there because every DT album has to have one. Overall, I still like this album a lot. Really great to have MP back in the band! |
| 2 | | Malevolence Where Only The Truth Is Spoken
A very fun groove metalcore album. |
| 3 | | Hate Bellum Regiis
Killer album, great stuff. |
| 4 | | BABYMETAL Metal Forth
This album is STACKED. Loved it much more than I expected. |
| 5 | | Haunt Ignite
Fun times, but not very memorable. |
| 6 | | Thousand Below Buried in Jade
I see people bashing this album when compared to the older ones - I haven't heard the older ones yet so I don't have the same criticism. I liked what I heard - nothing amazing but it was pretty fun. |
| 7 | | Seven Sisters Shadow Of A Fallen Star Pt.2
Absolutely fantastic, incredible stuff. AOTY contender. |
| 8 | | Castle Rat The Bestiary
Fantastic album (pun intended). Loved it. |
| 9 | | Sabaton Legends
I'll be honest - as much as I like Sabaton, I think the line of how unoriginal an album can get had been crossed by this point. It's a fun album but I'll never ever come back to it - I've heard it so many times before, different names every time. |
| 10 | | Amorphis Borderland
An incredible emotional album. I love this band so, so much. |
| 11 | | Mammoth The End
One of the most fun albums I've heard in a while. |
