Personally I get a lot more of that from black, power, djent and a very healthy % of prog, but then I wouldn't make such claims about those sub-genres (okay maybe I would about djent, lol)

And most importantly, the carcass was quickly picked clean by later bands that made genuinely good stuff. Basically like the disco explosion of the 70s.

DaveyMonsoon 02.05.25	Nu metal as a whole is pretty dated and is probably the one metal genre that aged like milk the most (aside from groove metal), but there's some admittedly good stuff here and there if you're willing to dig into it. Most aren't though, that's the thing.

Only other prog I like is death prog… shit like later Death, Gorguts, Horrendous etc
