2024 Albums that Offended me the Most

Having written my top 10 from 2024 I thought that I'd list some albums I didn't like. This is not a list of the worst albums of 2024, just ones that I remember particularly disliking.
1Eunuchs
Harbour Century

An absolutely tasteless mess of an album. An overbearing rock musical theatre experience fronted by an insufferable vocalist whose self-indulgent eccentricity forms the centerpiece of the music. The elaborate arrangements never hit on anything memorable and end up being a whole lot of nothing. The final track is truly an exercise in patience (remember that the word ‘patience’ comes from the Latin word 'patior' which means forbearance under suffering). 1.5/5.
2Geordie Greep
The New Sound

Geordie Greep? More like Geordie Creep! This suffers from similar problems as Harbour Century but it has more going for it in terms of melody, but this doesn’t go far because it's delivered in that over acted theatre kid style. The gross lyrics aren’t clever or remotely engaging. I felt like I needed to take a shower after hearing this. YUCK! 2/5.
3Kendrick Lamar
GNX

The world’s most moral rapper returns with a panegyric of himself delivered in a ridiculous drawl. Kendrick has always been a moral voice in rap, on Good Kid Mad City we heard the story of his redemption, and on To Pimp a Butterfly we heard the story of the moral superiority of the oppressed, and now we celebrate Kendrick taking down his enemies. There’s no edge here, nothing compelling. Turns out it’s just boring being the good guy. 2/5.
4Cindy Lee
Diamond Jubilee

Nothing happens! I wrote a whole review on this so I have nothing more to say. 2/5.
5Poppy
Negative Spaces

A hollow collection of melody propelled metalcore in which heavy computerized breakdowns open up into sweet refrains. It’s a perfectly programmed pop-metal album with pristine production and a fashionable image... the only problem is that it lacks a single interesting idea. 2/5.
6Sabrina Carpenter
Short n' Sweet

Espresso is the best song of 2024, it’s an unbelievably smooth pop track that gets everything right, but the genius of her hit can’t carry an entire album. This album is two singles supported by ten filler tracks (and the other single isn't even good). 2/5.
7Vampire Weekend
Only God Was Above Us

Only God Was Above Us. A spectre returning from the ancient days of 2000s indie rock. I remember many years ago I was aspiring hip kid trying to like this band because they would always show up on music sites, I’m glad I have the aesthetic sense now to realize there’s no point in trying. 2.5/5.
8Charli XCX
Brat

I think this is a part of an mkULTRA program that I never got initiated into. Viewing this from the outside, both the music and the promotion come across as awkwardly forced. I wonder how much money the people who describe things as ‘brat’ are receiving from Atlantic Records? 2.5/5.
