01.16.25 | I want to say the first thing I saw was Lost Highway when I was in high school. I don't know how to explain it without sounding hyperbolic or pretentious, but it altered something in my brain. I immediately bought Wild at Heart, Blue Velvet, Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive, Inland Empire, and Elephant Man on DVD and watched it all. |

01.17.25 | from a 2023 interview:
“I’ve noticed all the way through this conversation David, you’ve referred to [Badalamenti] in the present tense.”
LYNCH: You have to keep Angelo alive. I believe life is a continuum, and that no one really dies, they just drop their physical body and we'll all meet again, like the song says. It's sad but it's not devastating if you think like that. Otherwise I don't see how anybody could ever, once they see someone die, that they'd just disappear forever and that's what we're all bound to do. I'm sorry but it just doesn't make any sense, it's a continuum, and we're all going to be fine at the end of the story.

The same applies to you, David. Love ya |

01.17.25 | It is weirdly really comforting to come to this thread and see so many people mourning and sharing about how Lynch's work affected them. It's a beautiful thing, and a real comfort when dealing with a loss like this. I am so grateful for the way that his work touched my life and in some cases even helped me change for the better. And I've bonded with so many special people while discussing him and his contributions to art. I will miss him so, so much. |

01.17.25 | God I know, Naomi's was also very touching. I'm awaiting for what Laura Dern's will be. The overwhelming love, admiration, and celebration of this man is amazing. For such a polarizing artist, he was respected and loved by all. |

01.24.25 | I mean I can get by on my own just fine in regards to getting my hands on the man's work, but it would be cool to have some showings of David Lynch stuff
but in this backwater ramshackle fuck-hole they call a 'city'...? fat chance |
unclereich
01.24.25 | that's how i was first introduced to him. i was 18 and my local theater was doing a cult classics thing every Thursday, double feature for 5 bucks. blue velvet and eraserhead b2b. a night ill never forget |
Sharenge
01.24.25 | yeah, though I've already seen all of his main stuff except for Twin Peaks, I would totally be down to go see pretty much any one of his movies if the opportunity were available (well, except maybe Dune... would probs pass on that one I dunno lol) |
gabba
01.24.25 | I’ve been to an Eraserhead vs Lost Highway double feature at an open-air screening years ago, that was a blast. When Rammstein came on, the guy sitting in front of me whispered to his pals “I think it’s Bauhaus”. |
Sharenge
01.24.25 | lol I do kind of feel like a Lynch double feature including Eraserhead is pretty brutal but also an experience I would nonetheless be down for... it's just that (based on my recollection from past viewings) I think any viewing of Eraserhead and I'm good on Lynch for a little while so hellish/nightmarish and yet too close to home amIright |
