Had this in my library for a while. C-Funk/ProHoezak's early group from when he was named Cap'n Crunch. Very crude but fun album

NEW DISCOVERY

Feel like this is as sprawling as an 80s Golden Age Hip Hop album can be. Lowkey feels like a fever dream with all the directions it goes in.

Rated PG

REVISIT (didnt finish)

909 Boyz but cut down to just Seo Loc and MC Freeze. Love it cause I love them. It took a bit to grow on me but I'm coming to adore this album. Same producer who did Royal Flush by the 909 Boyz and though the beats aren't as exquisite as those they're very reminiscent. Very punchy baselines with a toy drum set. Also MC Freeze is as MC Freeze as ever.

NEW DISCOVERY

Finally finished checking his 2020's releases. They're all very similar and end up kinda losing my attention but not in a totally bad way. Very easy to throw on for some solid meat and potatoes hip hop and MC Eiht's voice and flow in his later years has become one of my favorites. A consolidated version of his last 4 or so releases would be incredibly strong but the albums on their own are in no ways bad or weak at all. Just kinda samey.

Which Way Iz West

NEW DISCOVERY

I've wanted to check this for years and it's pretty much what I expected. Great to hear a Lady of Rage feature and the production is nice and consistent being done by one producer. I believe Premier mixed this whole album.

Dope mix of underground boom bap and mainstream east coast sounds. Right down the middle of both sounds. Returns imminent!!

NEW DISCOVERY // LordePots Rec

I feel like it always takes me til near the end of a UK hip hop album to get accustomed to the voice. Always been my biggest barrier but this album's good. It's criminal the title track is only 2 minutes. Favorite song easily.

Elsewhere Nowhere

NEW DISCOVERY // LordePots Rec

Instrumental goodness. I don't love the whole thing but those lush tracks like Dog Voices and Feeling Lotus are so good to my ear.

How have I never heard of this album featuring Biggie in 1995?
