01.01.09 | From the recommendations above Jaga Jazzist and The Samuel Jackson Five are upbeat and share a style that is different from the 'standard' post-rock. | Athom
01.01.09 | moving mountains - foreword | spoon_of_grimbo
01.01.09 | check out 65daysofstatic - while they're not exactly upbeat, they mix in a bit of electronica and some weird time signatures, which makes it pretty interesting. similar kind of thing is "superstructure of an era" by Princess.
and although it's technically post-METAL, check out "in the absence of truth" by ISIS, as it's their most subdued album, and IMO, their best. spooky, but not really doomy or depressing. | luci
01.02.09 | From post-metal the number one band to check out is Pelican. Album: The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon The Thaw | Masochist
01.02.09 | LOL, those are the only two I have, also :-P | 3Radical
01.02.09 | Thanks for the recommendations guys, I'll check them out.
I've got that Isis album btw, it's quite good but I think I prefer post-rock. |
