Omg den that sounds amazing tell us more please!~!!! |

09.02.24 | i learned that you can send satellites to space whenever you want, because space is like international waters, but if you want geostationary satellites that broadcast on a certain frequency, because the frequency spectrum is moderated by an international governing body, you have to apply for getting a specific spot in geostationary orbit for a frequency band (which is technically free)
But when you get it you have to use it within 3 months or it gets reassigned
so companies are often put into positions where they have to send up dummy satellites to assert their right to the spot while they work on getting the real satellite into space

Not even kidding that heβs a good kid, always raising his hand and trying to help out in AP Lit as well as my Film elective last year. One of those students who I can say with confidence looks up to me.

09.03.24 | Could be psychosis. If he smokes lots of cannabis that can increase the risk of psychosis. |
robertsona
09.03.24 | Certainly psychosis, or whatever you want to call it. But surely triggered by smoking A Specific Bad Thing, I think. weed use seems better than last year where I'd clock like 10 kids a day clearly on the stuff, so that's good, but kids still do it before school (yeesh) and sometimes figure out a way to get high during. But those kids just act dumb and make me lightly sad. This kid--again, a really solid student imo--did not know where he was or to whom he was speaking. |
budgie
09.03.24 | maybe my standards are unrealistic but i think using recreational drugs in the middle of a classroom session precludes you from being a solid student |
robertsona
09.03.24 | He is a good student, though. He's polite, active, and smart in class and outside--was clearly going some kind of insane at that moment. He did make the decision to smoke before school, in theory, and you may think that precludes him from being a solid student, but then you might be secretly objecting to a lot of Straight-A'ers. Otherwise it's just that he accidentally hit that K2 (?) and went veritably crazy, which is not an unusual K2 story. Tim Heidecker has a story about how his friendly, well-intentioned teenage neighbor smoked K2 and ran around Los Angeles trying to stab him in the back, and doing so, with no context.
As with my student, kid woke up and asked, βWhat happened?β |
budgie
09.03.24 | maybe your standards are crushed into a subterranean level of despair |
robertsona
09.03.24 | Almost certainly. |
bighubbabuddha
09.03.24 | Yeah it could be synthetic marijuana, that stuff is terrible. A friend did it once at a party after a lot of alcohol and we had to take him to A&E because he said spiders were crawling over his body and he was convinced a worm was eating his brain. He was never the same after that. With weed-induced psychosis the guy would have had to been smoking a lot of cannabis regularly for a long time. It can just tip over. People believe the police are after them, think God is communicating with them through everyday happenings or start hearing voices etc |
budgie
09.03.24 | i'm not so sure psychosis from weed needs chronic use. in fact i'm confident i've seen literature that it acutely worsens morbidity from shit like ptsd |

09.04.24 | Yeah Rob, was going to mention Tim's story but you beat me to it, it boggles the mind that it is sold legally, I've never even seen "synthetic Marijuana", never met anyone who has smoked it, Tim's story was so shocking to hear, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was what caused your students outburst, the synthetic shit sounds like meth or bathsalts or something, it blows my mind that it's legal.
The hells angels have infiltrated the local high schools in my town, including my old highschool,

I've been to arizona a few times and the heat there is something else, it isn't surprising why obesity is such a problem, one weekend it got up to 120 farenheit = ~49 C. four people died that saturday from heat stroke, two were tourists, so it's kind of understandable that they wouldn't really be prepared, but the other two people who died were "personal trainers" and thought it was a good idea to go hill running in the middle of the day. |

It was super depressing seeing obese moms with young kids who are already obese, and their shopping cart is full of sugary stuff / junk food, just seemed like a lot of people gave up on trying to do the bare minimum in fitness.
When it's that hot all the time, you can't really do outdoor activities / sports like you can in a normal climate, it's a desert man. It seemed like people were pretty sedentary, drive throughs everywhere because no one wants to leave their car with the cool ac, |

09.10.24 | hi again all ilu, mental health has made me not engage much with music lately and I keep drifting from here but try to keep up with reviews!
I experienced the most upsetting sensation of my 34 years of life a few days ago. Gallbladder or stomach being pinched by ribcage, poking through a hernia. It's Cronenbergian body horror hell. Felt like an Alien chestburster scene. Exquisitely painful and vile. But that sensation....the *feeling* of it was worse than the pain. Like being disemboweled. Can't bent over, don't want to. Walking around stiff as a board and using a grabber tool to help pick thinks up. Doctor tomorrow. I'm praying to god for medical imaging, then surgery soon because this is spiraling me. The horrors of surgery are a lot more appealing than whatever is happening to my body right now. It felt good to type that out! Off I go to disassociate from my physical form with weed! |

09.11.24 | I've had surgery twice, both 10/10 experiences (general anesthesia is my favorite drug) |
Egarran
09.11.24 | Legalize it! |
Trifolium
09.11.24 | Speaking of legalizing: Cofffffffffffffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee time!
It's been raining so much lately aaaaaah I'm super happy about that!!!!
Does anyone else have reasons to be super happy? |
Egarran
09.11.24 | Yaa just made chocolate ice cream for my birthday party.
Then harvested 14 hazelnuts in the garden, which is two more than last year!
Now I'm gonna get high and tonight is tuna salad for dinner. I am close to bursting from joy. |
denboy
09.11.24 | i went home from work after lunch so i could take a nap but people keep messaging me asking for help
i just wanna sleep :( |
Trifolium
09.11.24 | 1/2 happy Danes, score could be higher but could also definitely be lower so all in all good happy joy I guess!!
den we'll block them for you, sleep well! |
Egarran
09.11.24 | Ahh the tuna salad was excellent.
Don't think that every day is a dance for me though. Yesterday dad-in-law was in the house for hours, fixing the washing machine, which totally ruined my daily routine, he also made a long speech about his stock portfolio and how he deals with market fluctuations. He gleefully mentioned some outrageous figures he had made by doing nothing except investing and never once did he mention that his daughter should have any of those money but OK he fixed the washing machine so what can you do.
Sleep well Den! |
budgie
09.11.24 | ya i bet the tuna salad was excellent |
budgie
09.11.24 | get it guys? haha |
budgie
09.11.24 | guys? |

09.12.24 | "ruined my daily routine"
Smoking weed and frollicking? |
Trifolium
09.12.24 | Especially that last one is superb for a daily routine I'd say. |
Egarran
09.12.24 | I don't like to do either when there are guests.
Ah, today is cool enough for sweatpants. Another cause for happiness. |
Trifolium
09.12.24 | Doesn't that depend on the guests? What if we were the guests? |
Egarran
09.12.24 | You're right, we could definitely frolick. |
Demon of the Fall
09.12.24 | I heard on the grapevine there be frolicking in here and boy was that accurate!
happy Autumn casuals! (although the cold snap here feels rather wintery, so I think the powers that be just decided to skip a season). |
Pheromone
09.12.24 | It is definitely approaching sweatpants weather
I agree Demon, we've got that bloody winter frost in the air today. A nice cold frolick |
Nomos2
09.12.24 | cooool just did blood work and an utlrasound to see what's wrong with me, it might be my gallbladder after all! |
Nomos2
09.12.24 | yeah it's cold as hell all of the sudden here too, Warm Fall is officially over for Alberta, now we freeze for six months |
Trifolium
09.12.24 | We could do some people frolicking at your place. Can't think of very many nicer things I'd rather do!
Same Demon! Twice, Autumn is very chilly here as well. Not as cold as where Nomos is though. I'd call it crisp instead of freezing as hell. |
Nomos2
09.13.24 | please frolic : ) |
budgie

Trifolium
09.13.24 | My fave thing to do is wear a shirt, leave it to marinate a little, and wear it again a couple of days later. Everyone always tells me how I smell so nice. This is the secret.
Perhaps this is true. Perhaps not.
Time for the pool. |
budgie
09.13.24 | nasty little hobbitses!!!!! |
denboy
09.13.24 | Went to the theater yesterday and watched part 1 of this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Inheritance_(play) (but in danish)
Watching part 2 tonight
Haven't been to the theater in more than a decade so starting with a multiday play seemed a little daunting, but time flew by pretty damn fast |
gabba
09.13.24 | At first I thought it is the theater version of the 2003 movie Arven, but itβs not, right?
Havenβt been to the theater in ages, now I realized Iβd really love to see something great. A play in 2 parts sounds awesome, stays with you during the day, getting prepared for the follow-up, just like with a good book. |
denboy
09.13.24 | Yeah it's not related to the movie at all, which, as a dane, is really confusing
"stays with you during the day"
I've already forgotten most of it lol
just like when i read books |
Egarran
09.13.24 | Gotta cut down on the general anesthesia bro. |

09.13.24 | you're not my mom |
