Worship and Tribute
Daryl’s vocals are really obnoxious on here. There are also at least to songs where they are on full display with nothing to distract you from them. Instrumental it’s fucking awesome at times, but then the vocals come in and I’m just thinking:” Dude, shut up.” | | 2 |  | Hum
Inlet
I just wish they would have kept the thing going they had on You’d Prefer an Astronaut, with was a good mixture of shoegaze and alt rock. With Downward is Heavenward you could see them leaning more into those slow shoegazy bits but then they broke up. For their comeback, which honestly, did anyone see this coming, I was hoping they will put all the pieces back together. Instead, they made a slow, plotting shoegaze album, that a lot of people liked, but I didn’t. | | 3 |  | State Faults
Desolate Peaks
The vocals on this record are so shrill and headache inducing that I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. I really like the two records they have done since, which makes this one such a shame. The material on it is good, shown by their live performance of Cities & Memory, which is absolutely breathtaking.
