Deez 10.18.23	Thats actually pretty interesting yeah I dont think I have any 5s this year but a load of 4.5s too. Big Brave is top 5 for this year for me, 8 too
CugnoBrasso 10.18.23	8 impressed me when I first listened to it but I never revisited it. I remember that the first song reminded me of Level 5 by King Crimson.
Demon of the Fall 10.18.23	8 is unimpressive. Liturgy is good but I don’t remember that one now, so yeah their earlier stuff is better, particularly HAAQ. Fire! Orc have definitely surpassed that before, same with Hecker (it’s good tho). Swans and Bell Witch suck (lol?) and Sprain is erm cool actually

JohnnyoftheWell 10.18.23	Still need to jam 4 and 6 dammit, but otherwise hmmm Sprain and Bell Witch are good and fair picks for that almost-breaking-the-ceiling tier thought Big Brave and Swans were dull, Tim Hecker was predominantly good-not-great and Thantifaxath was, uh, polite applause at best lol have you heard Gezan, Chepang or Kostnateni? "no idea what 2 is" a cautionary tale in performing drone/doom/post metal with a sludge/stoner deficiency
JoyfulPlatypus 10.18.23	I feel ya man, I've had a few albums hit that 4.5 mark this year, but nothing has crossed that point. Though to be fair, I tend to average roughly one 5 per year, so it's not out of the realm of possibility for a given year to not have any.
FurtherDown 10.19.23	I get why that Swans record can sound dull to many people, it's no TBK but it's a big improvement over leaving meaning. Maybe I'm just happy something sounds like Soundtracks again (I definitely wouldn't defend it that much without the Beggar Lover). Big Brave are objectively awesome tho. I still need to jam Kostnateni more, I heard it just once but I liked it a lot. I will check Gezan and Chepang for sure, thx!
wildinferno2010 10.19.23	Haven't listened to any of these except for the liturgy album. Probably will check out that Sprain album, sounds neat
