protokute 09.21.23	I use Spotify mostly because of the large collection of music included and because of the years spent building my playlists, but I'll admit the software is very frustrating to use, be it because of the unnecessary and horrible UI changes and how buggy the app is, at least on my phone.
normaloctagon 09.21.23	Spotify’s design gave me the heebie jeebies from the jump and from what I’ve heard it just keeps getting worse! I went to listen to an old favorite on YouTube Music this morning and half the album was just gone. Some copyright issue no doubt, whatever contract the distributor/label had with the tunes expired, something something. I’m sitting at work with an itch I can’t scratch, at least until I return home and dig up my digital library on my laptop
Trifolium 09.21.23	YouTube (not YouTube Music) and sometimes Bandcamp but 95% of the time CDs that I ripped and put on my NAS.
Shemson 09.21.23	I had hundred of cds which I individually ripped into my old pc library and used to use a usb for my car and an old iPod when on the move until getting Spotify about 10 years ago and yeah I don’t think I could live without it now I would be so sad not having access to ALMOST everything I wanted whenever I wanted it after being spoiled for so long now I buy records of albums that I love to try and support artists better too

PitchforkArms 09.21.23	Pretty much solely on Spotify. Selection for my old country and jazz stuff far surpasses any of the other streaming platforms and the effort to maintain a non-streaming library is simply too much for me at this point.

AlexKzillion 09.21.23	i use spotify because its what i've always used and i hate it but its also great and every update makes desktop worse and worse but its pretty decent for mobile and i think it sounds good enough and all my playlists are there and i like to make collab playlists with my friends and has easy last.fm integration and yeah from what i hear spotify sucks super hard for podcasts but i've also never listened to podcasts anywhere else so it can't be thaaat that bad?

mryrtmrnfoxxxy 09.21.23	was just pure Spotify from like 2011-2023. side note im surprised to be writing such a long range there.. anyway this year getting into 80s and 90s noise rock I was finding so much stuff was missing (albinis, boredoms, early Cows, early God Bullies) or were there but with fucked up streams (amphetamine reptile records, Slughog's second album) that im back building a digital library. one good thing about it is i don't have to listen to 2010s era remasters of everything anymore. i still have spotify since im paying for the family, i use it to check new bands and albums

Minortimbo12 09.21.23	I use amazon music unlimited, but I got some hard drive backup Itunes albums. Mainly Skillet, so hopefully that would hold me over if the internet took a shit someday

Zac124 09.21.23	I use Apple Music. If it is not on streaming, I buy it off Bandcamp. If the internet goes down, I at least have a decent amount of CDs and Vinyl records.

protokute 09.21.23	Without a doubt i would like to buy physical stuff but there's now way i could afford it at the moment, so streaming is the way for me. Does Apple Music or Tidal offer the option to synchronize playlists from Spotify in case I'd like to swap streaming services. My playlists are the only thing keeping me from trying other apps, honestly Even then, I guess there would be a lot of stuff that is on Spotify that would be missing on the other apps, specially old stuff
el_newg 09.21.23	I mostly use spotify now. consolidated podcasts & music in one app is simple (as if using 2 different apps is difficult??) but I only moved over because I ran out of space for local files on mobile. I still have some local files for things not on spotify, or if there is only shitty remasters available on the app, but their integration seems spotty and sometimes skips or can't play them, which is annoying. I have a hard drive full of mp3s from CD rips and downloads over the years but new releases there's no reason for me not to use streaming.

normaloctagon 09.21.23	It’s always perplexed me how people use playlists on streaming services, I’ve never been able to keep up with playlists so i just sort of stream what I’m feeling in the moment. But I’m starting to see why people do it

I buy vinyl from most smaller indie artists that I like and few from the more mainstream bands that I’m into. If the internet went down permanently I’d be lugging my record player around everywhere

IsisScript80 09.22.23	Spotify. Caved in for convenience. Occasionally buy albums/support artists on Bandcamp, and still buy CDs here and there, because physical is synonymous with "ownership" to me. Use to love iTunes for my computer and iPod library, but as shitbag Apple deliberately fucked it (and their customers), it fell away. "What do you do when an album you want to stream is removed from the streaming service you use? Do you seek it out elsewhere, or shake your fist at the sky and settle for another jam?" I've done both. That's mood/patience dependent.

I used to have my ipod classic 120gb and that muthafucka and i went everywhere together. “ spotify's is nightmare fuel” Even your hyperbole can’t make this anything less than lame. Don’t like Spotify? That’s alright! But if the UI is the stuff of your nightmares, enjoy your cotton candy pillows as you sleep peacefully not having to use it
Rolling Girl 09.22.23	Apple Music, only because I mostly use other apple products already. It also has a lot more content from Japan in my experience. And I think they technically pay artists more than spotify, which helps me feel smug.
