How I rank their discography

Made in Heaven

way too clean and sometimes the instruments feel too quiet in comparison to one another especially the percussion on some tracks. It had a good concept but fails to execute it well and its no surprise it usually appears at the bottom or close to the bottom of peoples lists The compositions and arrangements lack that touch that Freddie Mercury brought to them and it just pales in comparison to a ton of the other albums that were released when he was alive, without his involvement it just feels like fragments pieced together in ways that don't quite work.

Hot Space

Hot Space is all over the place and it feels like they couldn't find out where they wanted to go direction-wise with the album, the songs feel like a cheap and poor attempt at climbing the pop charts and its way too dance music-like generic 80s music with hardly anything really making it unique besides three great songs.

A Kind of Magic

The Miracle

Mostly overproduced, generic 80s Pop Rock with uninspired songwriting, bland basic but though this may be uneven and inconsistent, still a decent album overall and scored a few hits.
2.5/5

Jazz

The production is trash but side 1 is near flawless and mindblowingly incredible with some of their best songs after the first one, but side 2 only has 2 listenable songs and is very messy tracklist-wise and not very cohesive.

The Works

Their first return to form after a complete disaster.

The Game

A phenomenal start to a new decade that unfortunately would not deliver on the promises of this album and end up largely hit or miss.

Queen II

Queen's second entry is a good effort but lacks the fun experimenting of Sheer Heart Attack, and strengths of their debut.
4/5 (My initial rating was 3.5)
6Queen
Innuendo

A near perfect masterpiece with some of Freddie's greatest vocals which is impressive considering he was on the brink of death. Their first truly great album since The Works in 1984. This is the true final curtain on their discography and where it should have ended.

Queen

Her majesty graces the stage with a sparkling, furious entrance and laying the groundwork for what was to come next in her ruling. (NOTE: this is a tie with Innuendo but I cant tie albums so just count them both as in 5th place)

A Day at the Races

Some albums are doomed from the start whether it be from terrible album cover art or limited promotion; with Queen unfortunately it seemed to be the case of the album name being too similar to the last prompting immediate comparison to Opera which is unfair since this album for the most part is different and though its much more "poppier" it still has some very impressive work.

Sheer Heart Attack

Listed by multiple publications as one of the best albums of all time, and as a Glam Rock essential; it is truly one with a diverse span and incredible instrument work featuring lots of experimenting in styles as well as brilliant songwriting and instrumentals. Not every song is perfect but when it hits, it hits hard.

A Night at the Opera

Pretty much a classic with such a unique blend of different instruments, music styles, and interesting concepts not commonly done or seen in rock.

News of the World

a perfect variety of styles there and incorporating elements of other styles while gearing more towards hard rock, the albums more of an everyone album with letting everyone else have a chance to shine and it has some of their ABSOLUTE BEST Work yet, and its the one that got them big in the U.S
