From Wisdom to Hate

Okay, this has some cool moments and all, but I don't like their indecisiveness on the direction of this album. Either go full Obscura or do something more straightforward. Don't half-ass both of them. Gets kind of meandering at parts and the album as a whole feels much longer than it actually is. Also don't dig how the guitars sound exactly the same as they do on Obscura... maybe that'd work if I liked this album more, but it just reminds me that I could be listening to that instead.

Just a nice slab of good old-fashioned death metal. Nothing groundbreaking, but it's good stuff.

Colored Sands 2: Electric Boogaloo. Less wonky here, more atmospheric there, but fantastic stuff everywhere.

Now we're getting proggy. A more refined, mature Obscura with some of its weirder shit filed off. But I liked that weirder shit.

Obviously hugely influential and ahead of its time. So ahead of its time that it's still the king of dissonant metal. Like okay cool bro you definitely sound pretty hellish and spooky with that atmosphere that's neat and all but can you also sound like hot garbage like this album? Add some goofy-ass evil circus shit. Have some fun; it's not like this sounds any less demented.
