RSD '23

It's that time of year again! As per tradition, the weeks that have flown by since the list was initially released have moved me from "meh, nothing special" to a double-digit, half-page-of-a-notebook scrawl of "well, if that have it..."s. Thankfully, my closest shop's only a 15 minute mosey away, and in a sort of queasy turn of events this might be their last year (at least in that space), so it's as much a bon voyage as anything, if not more so that. Anyways, feel free to chime in with anything y'all are on the hunt for, and/or how much my taste sucks.
1Beach House
Once Twice Melody

Become 12" EP - Given the scope of its parent record, kind of amazing they ended up with nearly half-a-dozen b-sides--but hey, the more, the merrier.
2Broken Social Scene
You Forgot It in People

^20th(!) anniversary edition 2xLP
3Frou Frou
Off Cuts

^LP - A glorified EP's worth of demos, but damn if this act doesn't push some shiny nostalgic buttons.
4HORSE the band
The Mechanical Hand

^2xLP - Definitely tippy-top of my list (and naturally, the most expensive thing I'm after haha)
5Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires
Reunions Live At Brooklyn Bowl Nashville

The Sound Emporium 12" EP
6Macho Man Randy Savage
Be A Man

^LP - Actually on the hunt for this one for a buddy of mine, but real talk, if the shop allows it, I'm def tryna snag two.
7The Mars Volta
Frances the Mute

"France the Mute" 12" single - So this is the least essential of the inessential, as far as I'm concerned--not least on account of it'd be my first Mars Volta "upgrade" to vinyl, and I worry what floodgates would proceed to open in my anxiety-plagued completist mind.
8Nena
99 Luftballons

^40th(!) anniversary picture disc - Another "keeping an eye out for a friend" situation; no shade, but I'm far less likely to try for two here.
9P.M. Dawn
The Bliss Album…?

^LP - A close second to HORSE the band on my own to-get list, definitely an unsung innovator of the 90s.
10Shadows Fall
The War Within

^LP - More mainlined nostalgia right here. If memory serves, this was my first SF listen back in the day, and chalk it up to just recently seeing Killswitch Engage live, or just settling into irrelevant 30-something dotage, but I've been delving back into that scene a bit lately. (That said, it's an "RSD first," not a true 'sclusie, so not a top priority per se)
11Amanda Shires
Take It Like A Man

Live at Columbia Studio A 12" EP
12Sigur Ros
Kveikur

^10th anniversary 2xLP - I'm as shocked as anybody it's been a decade since Sigur Ros's last studio album, would make a nice companion (contrast?) to the recent ( ) re-release I scooped up last year.
13Death Cab for Cutie
You Can Play These Songs With Chords

Ghost: Vitamin String Quartet* Performs Death Cab for Cutie LP
(*hence its alphabetical placement)
14The Wonder Years
Burst & Decay

Burst & Decay: Live from New York EP
