03.08.23 | Don't upgrade Ashley's health because she's impervious to any damage in the suit. She also wont be carried off so you can use her as bait. Use the knife for the Krauser fight. Buy the mine thrower. Play the bottle cap game for extra money. The rifles are op. Tmp isn't really as good so I'd skip it. It's not too much worse than normal otherwise.
Edit for more: hou realistically only need 2 or 3 weapons. Focus more on the upgrades rather than building an arsenal. Handguns are piss unless its the red 9 although punisher can be a little clutch (it's really good against the shield zealot, falls off hard on the island) grenades are also op. The invisbugs in the castle are ohkos when they fly so you can farm them to an extent. |

03.08.23 | I've beaten RE4 at least 50 times. Once you get used to professional it's actually the easier difficulty because the enemies are more predictable. The game has a hidden mechanic where enemies become more aggressive the better you're doing and the game gives you a break if you're doing poorly. This might also affect item drops but I'm not sure. Anyway, on pro the sliding scale is always set to the highest level. |

03.08.23 | General tips, do not upgrade the first shotgun or any handguns until the Red 9 or blacktail, pick one or the other. Skip the first rifle if you're comfortable doing that. Never upgrade firing rate or reload speed until you need the exclusive at the end. Riot Gun or striker, I usually go with riot gun because you get the striker so late I'd rather make the castle easier. Always have one flash grenade on you for crow swarms. The village chief boss can be killed with like 4 fire grenades so save those for him. Try to only heal when you have a yellow herb. Buy the treasure map if you don't know where all the treasures are, it'll pay for itself. TMP is fantastic for bosses but never use it against regular enemies cuz it eats ammo. Do use it to shoot down treasure and stuff though. Don't buy a magnum cuz you get one for free. Don't upgrade the magnum until the end cuz it's too expensive and not worth it. Use a rocket launcher on the boss in the sewer after you freeze him |

03.08.23 | Only upgrade ammo when your clip is empty or almost empty.
RE4 saves your progress every time you enter a new room which is very abuseable. If you're not doing well in a room, just die or hit restart in the menu.
You can even go into a room, snipe a couple enemies, leave the room and then come back and those enemies will still be dead and you'll have created a new save.
Some rooms are worth just running through and then coming back later when all the enemies despawn like the dogs in the maze. If you approach a door and it says enter room or whatever it says in GREEN that means it'll create a save. And I don't mean save like turn your console off save but like your progress in the game if that makes sense |

So far I’m getting a lot better at using my knife more than my gun. This is way fun when you actually have to be smart with your gear, so immersive! Feel like I’m rediscovering the game and it was already my favorite game ever! |

So cool someone made a list about this game haha been totally obsessed with it lately. Kudos norm :) remake looks awesome gameplay wise but imo they really dropped the ball with the new character designs/voice cast. Literally every character looks and sounds worse, Krauser especially. Man sounds like a corny cartoon villain now and not a badass hardened soldier. Also why does Salazar look like Queen Elizabeth now lol |

03.08.23 | And yeah tips wise for pro Treb pretty much said it all. One thing though use your knife for the Krauser fight, does a ridiculous amount of damage to him. Shoot him in the legs and when he's staggered knife him a couple times. You can kill him in 30 seconds flat with this method. |

03.08.23 | since you've got the mafia suit i'd assume your playing newgame+, you want ashley to have the steel armor cause they can't pick her up. other than that leg shots/suplex/knife, sometimes its better to just shoot as a stun and run past them then get a kill |

fair since the village section is the best and it goes downhill from there after the water room in the castle. gameplay was fun to keep me going to the end for sure. played through it so many times |

03.08.23 | Water Room will be your first big hurdle for sure. I also got stuck on the "IT" fight for a while. Treb offers some good points however striker also let's you do the ditman glitch which let's you skip some key areas like the train ride and the fight with the 2 Gigantes. I always upgrade the standard shotgun and skip the riot because it'll be weaker than the first if you've been upgrading it through the village. The riot just let's you aim around faster so I don't think it's that big of a deal. The exclusive upgrade for the regular shotgun doesn't have damage drop off relative to distance either so it can be super good if you keep it to endgame but overall I'd rec striker because it's more compact and can hold a dumb amount of ammo. DO NOT skip on the semi auto sniper tho. Hands down the best gun on pro. |

The two big ones for me is the room with the four knights (shoot 4 magnum shots into each head, flash, easy win for a shit fight) and when a cage falls on you after you see Ada. |

03.08.23 | Novistidor cave? I could skip the helicopter area I'd do it every playthrough. I know you can skip the beginning island section for the island but it's kinda complicated. Train cart is kinda cool tho so I usually do it if I'm not speedrunning. Ditman is really just good for speedruns tbh. If you leave an area or get hit it resets to default speed so it's kinda tedious to use on casual plays. |

The way they ramp up the encounters with them is pretty cool though but that encounter just sucks without a rocket. Very curious if they'll have us do that fight without a rocket in the remake cuz it does trivialize the fight when you have it. |

Fought him legit on my last playthrough and man what a pain. Game says it takes 4 minutes for the elevator to arrive when I swore I outlasted that fucker for at least 8 minutes. There really should be a second liquid nitrogen container in the first room you fight him in. |

03.09.23 | Unless you're a TMP man I always think doing the sisters is better. Just put Ashley in dumpster, go into arena, immediately go up ladder, sit in corner, spam rifle/shotgun and win. The other room just makes me anxious but it is probaly easier than I think it is. |

Chainsaw sisters are pretty easy if you hide Ashley in the dumpster and just keep your distance. There's another area of Ganados after them too so you go through a lot more ammo that route. |
