15 Lovely Female Singers
Been a while since I've been able to make a list, but now I got some time. self-explanitory title |
| 1 | Bjork
It's hard not to ignore or not recognize her powerful/unique voice. Her songs are almost fueled by her voice alone, she's definitly hard to top. |
| 2 | Tori Amos
Another female vet in the in the music industry, Tori nearly took the list with her serene voice. She also does covers like nobody's business! |
| 3 | PJ Harvey
Possibly the hottest rocker out there, PJ is an excellent rocker an dher voice convays that rawness of feeling. her work with Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme is quite amazing as well |
| 4 | Kristen May (Vedera)
Fairly unknown probably, but oh my god I want to marry this woman just on her voice alone. take a listen to the song "Trade this Fear" and hopefully you'll agree |
| 5 | Imogen Heap (Frou Frou)
Another hottie, and her word-play with her lyrics are unique and inspiring. |
| 6 | Regina Spektor
Another singer just like Imogen, but with a little more bounce to her voice, but again, he word-play is very interesting, descritptive, and not as disconjoining as Imogen |
| 7 | Laura Veirs
She seems like the female version of Weezer to me, kinda geeky rock, but she has some amazing chops and her guitar work is pretty nifty; her effects definitly progress better then others. |
| 8 | Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley)
It's the singer of Rilo Kiley, what more you want?! |
| 9 | Carah Faye Charnow (Shiny Toy Guns)
Holy crap this girl's got some attitude in her voice! first time I heard her sing was "Le Disko" and she blew me away with her screams and tauntful whispers/lyrics |
| 10 | Maja Ivarsson (The Sounds)
Another one with a fiery attitude to flare, she has this "I don't give a crap" feeling to her that makes her very compelling to listen to. her snakes of a plane contribution was kinda interesting as well |
| 11 | Lisa Hannigan (Damien Rice)
I'm not sure why Damien Rice and Lisa split from each other, but she was a very subtle, but powerful addition to his music. Her whimsical voice made her seem vunerable and made the music more intising |
| 12 | Dolores O'Rordan (The Cranberries)
I'll always remember the song "Zombie" just because of Dolores' snarling and raspy voice. She lead the band very gracefully through a good career which deserved maybe a little more attention then it did |
| 13 | Natasha Khan (Bat for Lashes)
This new singer on the prowl has got me addicted with her mysterious and cunning voice, leading me through a series of stories that are obsure and again, mysterious; I'm hoping for good things to come |
| 14 | Sandra Cretu (Enigma)
Probably not known offhand, but one of the voices of Enigma was Sandra Cretu and her natural flowing voice made Enigma what so unique and inspiring. songs like "I Love You...I'll Kill You' are still riviting today as they were years ago |
| 15 | Greta Salpeter (The Hush Sound)
Just good vocalist who deserves a little more spotlight then she's gotten, and I'm tired of typing |
