11.04.22 | I actually prefer X a bit. Both are good, although neither is quite outstanding. X was more of a straightforward slasher and was enjoyable as such, while Pearl was your ordinary person-going-crazy story enlivened with style but wasn't all that interesting or suspenseful. I still consider Ti West a real talented director of old-school horror, though none of his films left me too impressed. |
