10 Year Sputversary + My band’s new record!
Sput… Almost 10 years on this godforsaken site. On again, off again, but always lurking. Feels like yesterday that I was sitting in high school English class struggling to log in on my phone (it’s really not much better now, ha) and rate every album I’d ever listened to. I remember way back when we used to do loads of plug.dj sessions. The internet is a strange and beautiful place. This community. has opened me up to so many artists and records that I would have never been exposed to otherwise. The appreciation is real.
So, my band just dropped our 1st full-length. I do the lead vocals and play rhythm guitar - this is my main creative outlet. It would mean the world if you all could check it out. It’s punky rock music, a little sing-songy-y. Think PUP, The Menzingers, The Hotelier, etc. We’re 100% DIY, so any support goes a long way (and touches our hearts I could talk all day about this thing (the bad and the good), but, I tthhiinnkk Atari may be spinning up a review sometime soon - which I can’t wait to read! Please let me know what you think. If you stream on Spotify, you can see all of the cool artwork that our good friend did for us.
On the Impossible Past
Most of the entries on the list are records that are very informative of my taste and writing on this thing (first few are direct influences of “For Fans Of” entries, many of the others are just things that I listen to enough so as to be inescapably linked to anything I write), last entry is our record :) Peace and love, all.

happeh ten years happy album release will czech
Holy shit, your album rips!
Massive Menzingers vibes, and that's a good thing!
Your vocals are great, have you floated this to record labels, you guys could get signed easily, that's if you wanted.
Probably the best Midwest Emo release this year.
Thanks a bunch, my dude! We haven't even thought to float it to any records, tbh.
Will check this thing out! Looking forward to it!
will listen to this ASAP
Any plans for a physical release?
Gonna drop some coins on the bandcamp page.
Just followed and saved on Spotify and i'm listening now, great stuff so far!
Thanks for all of the kind words, friends.
@Sloth, if we generate enough interest, we may print a short run of vinyl with some cool art package w/ all of the track art. Probably not enough to make any money, but just enough to make some bros happy
Such an enjoyable album! Killer vox, drums, and guitars.. I've heard a lot of great Sput user albums over the years but maybe nothing that fit in this closely with my personal music taste :]
In addition to the band comparisons already mentioned, I can't help but get a Bayside vibe at times. also maybe some Somos - Temple of Plenty (an underrated gem). some hints of Anberlin and Spanish Love Songs too
Happy sputversary and keep up the nice work with your band! :)
Atari, ya boy still hoping for a rev (:
"How old are you, anyway?
I'm old enough to know that I'm up to no good"
Is this a dig at predatory behavior in the scene?
Ha! Not necessarily. With the state of the scene now, I'm sure it reads like that.
That was actually the first song we ever wrote as a band - in like 2015 LOL. Probably the least "read into -able" song I've ever written. Underage drinking and passing out drunk where I shouldn't have been....
Bird is the word
Onto my 4th spin of this sweet thang!
Keeps on getting better.
genre for album?
I'd classify it as Midwest Emo, with punk and alt rock undertones
Huh. I'll give it a spin.
Pines, It's What it is, and Starting are my current favs.
Album is great! Really enjoyed it. Congrats
Best New Music! Well done.
Diggin this, great influences too! lmk if you guys go on tour, I can help you get a show in Phoenix!
