Shemson 08.25.22	I don’t disagree, and I have a feeling I’m going to reconfirm I still love them all as I can definitely still recall most of the albums by memory and remember the words etc. however, there was once a time I’d have had 5s by Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine and Trivium so it’s important to revisit as tastes can change!

Demon of the Fall 08.25.22	Yeah good idea My oldest 5s are definitely still 5s but that’s because I culled too hard and nostalgia barely registers for most things anymore. A handful still going strong mind at 10+ and a maybe 3 or 4 at 15 years.

Those are great, but I don't think "more cohesive" is something that comes across to me. 'Frances the Mute' for example, is so sprawling and all over the place, it couldn't fit its 14 minute title track onto its already 77 minute runtime. Their album debut was 1 hour of pure, relatively focused (for them) awesomeness.
Demon of the Fall 08.26.22	Frances is excessive, could do with a trim in select places, but it still works as an overall journey / experience (hence cohesive). Deloused doesn't have that same vibe for me.
IsisScript80 08.26.22	^ Fair enough. Difference of opinion, really. I think the arc and sequencing was pretty much spot-on on the debut, but they're all very good albums anyway, so it's just personal preference if you buy into what they're about from the get-go. :)
Shemson 08.26.22	I jammed Frances so many times and just didn’t feel it at all any time. Too much time not playing songs for me! Will probably try it again sometime and see if it clicks. Arctic Monkeys debut on right now Mort - extra excitement knowing they got a new one out in a couple months

I was watching a tv programme last night and to show that the character was an angry lad who did some shady shit involving a murder they show him in his room looking angry with some death metal on - nonsense. >Big distorted riff >Drum fills and cymbals building it up >Everything stops >Whole band drops in with a death growl on queue Huge grins all round

Shemson 08.27.22	Feels like I’m going the same way bloc from my current 5s but if I’d joined 15 years ago instead of 9 years ago I’d definitely have some 5s to downgrade! The only recent one I can remember is dropping BTBAM Colo(u)rs from a 5 when they released the 2nd one and I re-listened to the original and found quite a bit of it irritating
