Are my oldest 5s still 5s!?

I’ve been on this site for a long time and tastes change a lot over time. I was talking thrash the other day and reiterated my old opinion that Rust In Peace is the best thrash ever and a straight 5 but worked out I haven’t even listened to that album in over a decade! Now that lists can be updated again it’s time to find out over the next couple months - are my 5s still 5s?
1Megadeth
Rust in Peace

Still a 5! Holy Wars, Hanger 18, Lucretia, Tornado, Polaris are a cut above the rest but they’re definitely amongst the best ever thrash songs and ensure the album overall remains classic.
2Children of Bodom
Hatebreeder

Yeah this still rips. The vocals are a bit more grating than I remembered tbf but Alexi’s leads and riffs are at their very very best here and I think if there was any argument between 4.5 and 5 the nostalgia value of seeing it live and the hard RIP for Alexi keeps this a classic.
3Agnes Obel
Aventine
4Alkaline Trio
Good Mourning
5Arctic Monkeys
Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not

Brilliant album this. So many witty one liners, riffs and attitude.
Going out with a few mates tonight and it’s made me feel mischievous like I’m 15 years younger 🤣
6Clipping.
Visions of Bodies Being Burned
7Coaltar of the Deepers
Yukari Telepath
8Coheed and Cambria
From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness
9Coheed and Cambria
In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3
10Cradle of Filth
Damnation and a Day
11Cradle of Filth
Midian
12Cryptopsy
None So Vile

Yeah this is still the 5est 5 in death metal.
Huge grin on my face listening to the whole thing.
13Deafheaven
Sunbather
14Decapitated
Winds of Creation

This just rules. Before I heard it I always assumed it got overhyped because of their age at the time but I think it genuinely has some of the best riffs in all of death metal and a really solid vocal and rhythm section to boot.
15Emperor
Prometheus: The Discipline of Fire...
16Strapping Young Lad
Alien
17The Mars Volta
De-Loused in the Comatorium

Yeah this is such a fun album. Definitely a few unnecessary self indulgent moments like the middle of Cicatriz Esp but the way it explodes after the nonsense makes it worthwhile! Still love this.
18Tool
Ænima
19Funeral for a Friend
Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation
