08.07.22 | an actual autist meltdown or are you just using that word like a twat?
cos if you had an actual meltdown that sucks man sorry |

08.07.22 | :( sucks |

08.07.22 | could be worth joining a union if you aren't in one already - if you actually are autistic reasonable adjustments should be put in place for you and your employer should account for this |

08.07.22 | I was in management and got demoted to back on my tools so I don't think a union could have helped me. Surely you can't be in a union and management at the same time.
Also I can't think of anything that would get me blackballed from my industry quicker than joining a union or trying to claim a disability |

08.07.22 | We have to maintain professionalism in the workplace regardless of the triggers. Some of the best advice that I received when I was young from a really great people’s manager was even if you don’t respect the person, you still have to respect the rank. |
americanohno
08.07.22 | i just really hate being told how to do my job y'know. tell me what you want done an d it'll get done. tell me how i gotta do it and i start gettin pissed... |
Tunaboy45
08.07.22 | Granted I don't know how it works in America but management positions shouldn't exclude you from being a union member, and joining a union or claiming reasonable adjustments definitely shouldn't affect your employability. |

08.07.22 | 'Some of the best advice that I received when I was young from a really great people’s manager was even if you don’t respect the person, you still have to respect the rank.'
i understand this advice and its deffo useful for maintaining employment/getting on in the workplace, but god i fucking hate the underlying idea. rank can be so meaningless its ridiculous, and nothing makes me respect a person less than them wielding their rank like a weapon to make up for their poor work quality |

08.07.22 | flashback to the time a waiter (who was in title a manager but never did any managing) chewed me out in italian because i told him it was his job as waiter to stock his station not mine. turns out he was a manager and i had just massively pissed him off for not realising his superior rank, but i dunno what managing he did other than managing his own fatass

08.07.22 | 30 dollars an hour? Shit I’ll jerk your boss off for that |
Assemblage
08.07.22 | Perhaps 36/hour is somewhat overpayed?? If people can manage their bills at 10/hour than I certainly think 30 is manageable. |
Calc
08.07.22 | I swear at my boss, I get fired. Consider yourself lucky dude. |
MyNameIsPencil
08.07.22 | A six dollar an hour penalty like that sounds illegal. that said, sometimes principal has to be pushed aside and you have to swallow your words and pick your fights carefully. i'm not saying roll over and take shitty treatment either though. health will always be more important than a shitty job |
Dedes
08.07.22 | If I wasn't absolutely essential to the business I work at my chances of being fired for even leaving early to go to like, my sisters wedding or for having a brain bleed would be at least 50/50
So yeah man, bite your tongue. A pay deduction is tame compared to being fired. It sucks, I too hate my boss with a impressive passion, but sadly rank trumps all. |

Ok boomer where you living with manageable rent on a 10/hr wage in 2022 |
Dedes
08.07.22 | I mean 30 an hour is perfectly goddamn manageable even if you live in an overpriced city
10? If you live alone in a cheaper rural region and put 50-60 a week yeah but otherwise I'd imagine not.
I'm under the table 10 an hour, rent is 775 a month no utilities included and I get by p damn well. I also have no children and do not own a car so ofc that is a factor. If I did then I'd be fucked lol |
sonictheplumber
08.07.22 | hey man move to the countryside, trust me its cheaper here |
Storm In A Teacup
08.07.22 | "who can manage their bills at $10 an hour"
Exactly. I live in a top 5 cheapest to live state and need to make at least $2,000 a month to be okay. |
hal1ax
08.07.22 | you were only demoted for doing that? lol every company i've worked at it would be termination |
Meridiu5
08.07.22 | that's a shame, man.
once trust like that is broken, it is difficult if not impossible to rebuild.
corrected behavior would go a long way though. |

08.07.22 | Pro tip for next time. These days if they think you're gay sometimes the boss will try and pay you off subtly in ways to get rid of you. I've had offers. |

08.08.22 | Indeed, we live in a pathetic time where thin skin/agressive passive people are now deciding what is an ok behaviour. The tolerance level of the average person is now so low, the bar is very very very low. I have a personal preference for the old thick skin/ high tolerance type of people. And, a boss should be thick skin & fucking manage, too many bosses are weak and fragile, it is not for everybody to lead others. Bosses dont need to be protected, employees do, in general. My 2 cents. Cheers! |
Calc
08.08.22 | you advocating cussing out your boss and the boss giving you the old attaboy for it I see. not sure which timeline these bosses came from but sounds neat. |
Juturna91
08.08.22 | I hate when people write that "you can manage on easily!" as if every place on this planet had the same cost of living. Like yeah, $10/h might let you live pretty damn comfy in most cities in India, but if you live in San Francisco or New York you're going to have a difficult time for sure.
Also sorry to hear that you got demoted. If you're actually an autist and had a meltdown because of things being hard to handle, I'm sorry to hear that. :( You should be able to tell a boss he has his head up his ass if he's not managing you in a way that helps you do your job better.
But if you just raged because you're an angry rager-type then idk... Not sure I feel like it's something you should be demoted for, but a stern warning seems to be in place. |
