Literally the whole list I was all "Starless better be on here..." and the higher I got I was prepared for disappointment but my man came through haha. Hell yeah.
The Comus cover really caught my eye and after jamming it I've been going through and checking out some of the stuff I haven't heard. So far I've jammed 80,62,55,51,24,12, and 3 and I love them all. Dope list! Future Days and Vincent especially are gems imo
Lots here to split hairs over but there is a smattering of Huge Classics here and that's all I want out of a best-of-decade list. Maybe could've used some Willie Nelson
think I prefer Cosmic Slop to Maggot Brain in terms of title tracks. like maggot brain is a killer solo but they have some killer funk rock where everyone gets to play
Love Love Love Deacon Blues. Could have just as easily been that one or the title track but Peg is the song that you can listen to on most occasions and basically everybody will love it. It's just such a fun tune
CLose to the edge doesn't do it for me anymore. I barely ever listen to that one these days. Starship Trooper, Heart Of The Sunrise and Southside of the Sky are my faves but Starship Trooper is all around their best song in my opinion
Good point there on Peg. As for Close to the Edge, that track blows me away every time, but all of Yes’s 70s stuff was great, so I can see what you’re saying there. You a fan of Thick as a Brick?
With Thick As A Brick it's kind of the same story as with CTTE for me as it's one of those long prog epics that I've kind of fallen out of love with. I appreciate the effort more than I want to listen to it. i don't dislike them though
Your Gold Teeth II is the based underdog pick. So underrated. Amazing song. Reelin' in the Years would have been my other pick but the restriction is 2 songs
Yeah Renaissance is a great band. 1 is 1 for me aside from Shine On You Crazy Diamond. 3, 5, 6, 9, 25, 28, 35, 38, 52, 88, and 90 would be on my list too. Some other favs are The Big Ship by Eno, Dogs, War Pigs, Won’t Get Fooled Again, Baba O’Riley, Bohemian Rhapsody, Echoes, Time, Close to the Edge full album, Stairway to Heaven, Don’t Fear the Reaper, Heroes by David Bowie, Subterraneans by Bowie, One More Red Nightmare, Larks Tongues in Aspic, Heart of the Sunrise, 2112, Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres, Ashes are Burning, Rubycon, and Landslide.
"You ever take a shower and the water hits the tip of your dick in just the right way,
giving you a half chub? That's Ney Matogrosso's voice."
Lol, one of the best soundoffs I've read
