ConcubinaryCode 05.26.22	Yeah, just get a new member. It's not uncommon for people to leave even the biggest bands just to be replaced. Even if the rest of the band doesn't want to move on it doesn't mean you have to stop making music
pjquinones747 05.26.22	they're a pretty unique singer. i'm sure we could find some sort of replacement but it'd also be losing a best friend to distance, that's the other big bummer. how tight we are as a band is a big part of it.
pjquinones747 05.26.22	not to mention i (the drummer) write all the lyrics, so our new singer would have to be ok with singing my songs (only the ones that've already have vocal parts written, i don't monopolize) and would have to be ok with the way we write (in the room together, no bedroom producer shit)

pjquinones747 05.26.22	I'm a lot less stressed today than I was yesterday over it. Me and my other bandmate who'd be left in this scenario just gotta talk about it. I might be freaking out over nothing if our singer gets an in-state job but it feels like a real toss-up right now.
newsteamchannel4 05.26.22	Been in that spot man. Guy showed his colors over time and turned out to be one abusive ass dude. We had insane chemistry at the start (when it came to music at least) but it went downhill hard. It may not be the same position as you but I understand the feeling of leaving that feeling behind, it was the steam that kept me moving through what has been a difficult life. The band can’t be held onto but you still love making music and that should take whatever form its allowed to given the limitations. I made okay folk punk with that band but now it’s all whatever I want to express, it’s definitely freeing and I definitely make things that are more true to myself, but I still miss the band experience often. Find a new singer, start a new band, or keep jamming with the same band instrumental until you find a new singer, this is absolutely small potatoes dude, it happens. Sorry your friend might be moving away, but there is absolutely no reason for you to be feeling like the one thing that keeps you going in your life is disintegrating because you lost a vocalist lol

pjquinones747 05.26.22	Guitarist is a fantastic player, not the MOST choc full of ideas but has a decent amount when its needed. Bass player/singer just happens to have the right amount of ideas and excellent chemistry to make up for it when needed.

Lord(e)Po)))ts 05.26.22	When I was a teen I had a metal band that was my life. Our guitarist went to rehab and I had feelings similar to what you are experiencing. Turns out our recently acquired bassist could play guitar just as well so he swapped and we got a new bassist and it worked out just fine. That band eventually fractured into multiple other bands and I’ve been in about 4 or 5 other bands that I’ve felt just as satisfied with since, some with some of the same members, others completely new. I was also exclusively a drummer and felt that it sucked that I couldn’t do any solo music when bands fell apart. Was also wrong about that. When I moved away and didn’t know anyone I bought some recording equipment and started just fucking around with various instruments and singing and eventually got into producing electronic stuff as well. You’d be surprised at how easy it is to pick things up with a proper rhythmic background. You may not be able to rip a solo but you’ll pick up on the melodic side of things very quickly and when you are recording by yourself you don’t need really need to be a pro to get your ideas down.
Lord(e)Po)))ts 05.26.22	I also wrote the lyrics for that first band btw, and it was not hard having other people adopt them or for our guitarist to learn the old guitarists parts and then start bringing his own ideas to the table. Have some faith!
