| Metal Musicians
5 of my favourite of each instrument most common in metal! | 1 | | Gorgoroth Twilight of the Idols
Vocals: Gaahl - Instantly recognisable rasp, incredible range, great stage presence. | 2 | | Black Veil Brides Wretched and Divine
Vocals: Andy Biersack - Even Andy's talking voice is enjoyable. Oh and Glam Metal counts as metal. Probably my all time favourite vocalist. | 3 | | Suicide Silence No Time to Bleed
Vocals: Mitch Lucker - The contrast between the highs and the lows is ridiculous, not to mention again a true front man. Yes Deathcore Is metal. | 4 | | Slipknot Iowa
Vocals: Corey Taylor - If you need any reason, it might be time to revisit this album again. | 5 | | Job for a Cowboy Ruination
Vocals: Jonny Davy (not to be confused with Jonathan Davis) - If you can think of an unclean vocal style, Jonny has mastered it. | 6 | | Darkthrone A Blaze in the Northern Sky
Guitar: Zephyrous - Underneath all the hissing and buzzing of early DH, It's actually beautiful how precise and intricate Zephyrous' playing is. | 7 | | Burzum Filosofem
Guitar: Varg Vikernes - Creator of some of the most hypnotic and iconic, albeit simple riffs. | 8 | | Black Sabbath Born Again
Guitar: Tony Iommi - The man himself. | 9 | | Megadeth The World Needs a Hero
Guitar: Dave Mustaine - Blokes a bit of an ass, but his playing is impeccable, blows Metallica out of the water in this regard. | 10 | | The Red Shore The Avarice Of Man
Guitar: Roman Koester & Jason Leombruni - Check this album out, pure Nile worship but the playing is grade A. | 11 | | Gorgoroth Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam
Bass: King Ov Hell - By far and wide my favourite bassist of all time, I absolutely worship his playing whether he be supporting the percussion or guitar the bass lines are always fantastic. Not even to mention he has wrote some of my all time favourite guitar riffs / Black Metal. | 12 | | Slipknot Slipknot
Bass: Paul Gray - The sole reason Bass became my favourite instrument in the first place. | 13 | | Darkthrone Under a Funeral Moon
Bass: Nocturno Culto - The bass playing on this album sometimes is like straight up lead guitar playing. | 14 | | Mudvayne L.D. 50
Bass: Ryan Martinie - Slap slap slap. | 15 | | Motorhead Snake Bite Love
Bass: Lemmy. | 16 | | Satyricon The Shadowthrone
Drums: Frost - Hail the mighty Frost! | 17 | | Job for a Cowboy Demonocracy
Drums: Jon Rice - Bloke has arms like an octopus. | 18 | | Slipknot Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses
Drums: Joey Jordison - Incredibly influential, the first time I heard Joey Play was the first time I heard Extreme Metal drumming and I was blown away. I'm guessing this will be the same for many of you. | 19 | | Darkthrone Transilvanian Hunger
Drums: Fenriz - Seems a shame to limit him to just drums, all round one of my favourite musicians ever, metal nerd for the metal nerds. | 20 | | Iron Maiden Piece of Mind
Drums: Nicko McBrain - the playing on this album is ridiculous. | 21 | | HIM Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights
Keyboard: Burton - Probably the first time I ever paid attention to Keyboards, Burton was great at adding serious atmosphere to HIM. | 22 | | Emperor Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
Keyboard: Ihsahn - How could I forget? | 23 | | Marilyn Manson Antichrist Superstar
Keyboard: Madonna Wayne Gacy - Not keyboards in a traditional sense, but an extra layer of creepiness on the music. | 24 | | Slipknot All Hope Is Gone
Keyboard: Craig 133 Jones - Yeah I know Slipknot again. Same as above. | 25 | | Deep Purple Machine Head
Keyboard: Jon Lord - Hugely Influential. | |
