zakalwe 12.17.21	I went on a whiskey tasting thing in Edinburgh a couple of years ago. Probably wasn’t the wisest decision to have sunk about 6 pints before hand in the boozer over the road. Bowled in, ripped the piss out of the tourists and said whiskey was shit.

Dedes 12.18.21	If you ever get the chance try Leadslingers P straightforward no frills whiskey but it maintains a nice balance of boldness/smoothness. Also Matt Best makes it which instill a massive dose of American Freedom with every swig.

Egarran 12.18.21	If I was rich I would def be a fancy whiskey alcoholic. I've found that price pretty much follows quality when it comes to alcohol.
BallsToTheWall 12.18.21	Yeah but for whiskey you can find a lot of gems around $40-$60. Found some whiskeys at Total Wine for like $4k and was like lol what!
Egarran 12.18.21	Yeah ok I admit I've never tried that price range. Is it 100 years old? Is that stuff even whiskey anymore and not some kind of godlike precum?
Parallels 12.18.21	I usually just aim for the 30-55$ range and see what I get. I recently tried Old Pulteney's 12 year single malt scotch whiskey. It's a breathy bit, fairly smooth but I mean it's got like a beach air taste to it, almost a salt tinge. I thought it was worth trying but wouldn't get it again. Very unique and memorable taste. Would match it with a playlist of Teddies, a.k.a. Teddy Stauffer's 30's swing and lounge jazz.

insomniac15 12.18.21	Been getting into Scottish whisky lately. Ardbeg is amazing. Johnnie Walker Green Label was a nice surprise. A fresh but smoky touch, most likely from the Caol Ila blend. I'll buy a Blue Label for Christmas, long overdue to try it. Also, Jameson Black Barrel is good. Makes me forget about the standard one.

Egarran 12.18.21	And if you taste the kind that stands out, you're kinda fucked. E.g. I remember my first Talisker better than most other first things.

Meridiu5 12.19.21	i love ardbeg. tastes like straight up caramel creosote. bought toki jap whiskey because it was on sale super cheap. it's like red label except no astringent notes and it doesn't give you a hangover.

insomniac15 12.19.21	Talisker is great indeed and Lagavulin is easier to find in bars to taste than Ardbeg. Also, Laphroaig is one of the most interesting ones I tasted yet. The smoky sour taste is something else. I can't drink more than two rounds, just like Ardbeg, it's too heavy. Regarding Japanese whiskey, I only drank Tenjaku. It was interesting, a bit spicy, but the import price makes me reconsider buying again.

insomniac15 12.19.21	Irish pub types are popular here in Romania. Some of them have a decent variety of whiskeys. Thankfully, a fair number of Scottish ones are found there as well. Lagavulin is at the posh end, of course.

BallsToTheWall 02.11.22	I was hoping to get back into music reviewing but turns out nope. I’m excited to write about whiskey however. Two more good ones I got were Balcones Rumble and Highland Park Viking Honour.

WalrusTusk 02.11.22	Balvanie Double Wood is really nice as is Lagavulin 8 (for their and as starters). There's another one I can never remember the name of but when I get home I'll find it for ya.
