12.01.21 | This guy's Spotify Wrapped said he has played Easy On Me by Adele like 3400 times... wtf |
SlothcoreSam
12.01.21 | My top song was Hail The Sun - Domino, listened 26 times.
But that is because it was released as a single early in the year, and I had it added to numerous playlists throughout the year.
I generally don't just listen to songs. I either listen to an album on full, or make a playlist and listen to it on shuffle. |
AmericanFlagAsh
12.01.21 | Same I am just baffled people can put a song on repeat for an hour or hours?? |
SteakByrnes
12.01.21 | I tend to be the same as sloth, i listen to albums in full usually unless I am super hooked on a certain song which I can then play on repeat to no end.
Also I love the gengar pfp |
bloc
12.01.21 | Bro even 30 is a lot for me. I might have 10-15 max plays of a single song in a year. |
alamo
12.01.21 | usually my top 25 songs get 50-90 scrobbles each and the top 50 through 26 get 30-50 scrobbles
i tend to listen to full albums once and save the songs i like most (unless i love everything lol) |
AmericanFlagAsh
12.01.21 | "Bro even 30 is a lot for me"
For a single year, yeah me too. I could love a song very much, but don't want to hear it THAT much. |
alamo
12.01.21 | this year tho i had the tinashe album on repeat for like two months so my top song (bouncin) got 174 scrobbles |
MrSirLordGentleman
12.01.21 | I suppose it depends on how much music you listen to overall. Most people that don't listen to many bands, genres, etc will end up checking a song they like tons of times, simply because they don't listen to many songs in the first place
If you're more into music and tend to check more stuff then you don't have the need to come back to a song you like that quickly |
Trebor.
12.01.21 | I almost always listen to full albums |
AmericanFlagAsh
12.01.21 | Yeah I guess I do listen to so many different albums weekly that I don't focus on one song |
alamo
12.01.21 | i think if i only heard full albums and didnt nitpick the songs i like most to listen later it would be a lot more frustrating to check out new stuff |
Trebor.
12.01.21 | If there's multiple songs I don't like on an album I just don't listen to that album much |
botb
12.01.21 | I do full albums or at least stretches of albums mostly |
AmericanFlagAsh
12.01.21 | I actually make a playlist every year of songs I liked from albums that came out that year, but it gets very long so the same song doesn't really repeat |
ArsMoriendi
12.01.21 | In a year? I don’t think I could exceed like 30 lol
I feel like if you heard the same song 400 times, your taste is prob hella narrow. Who has time for the same song that much? |
AmericanFlagAsh
12.01.21 | Yeah the guy who has listened to Easy On Me 3400 times already is prob v boring |
onionbubs
12.01.21 | full album gang but i do tend to repeat my fav albums a lot. i find it rlly hard to retain albums on my first few jams so listening to the shit out of smth is the only way i can actually feel like ive gotten to know it. as such i could never be one of those ppl that jams a ton of new albums every day but respect to those who can |
alamo
12.01.21 | take it easy on him |
AmericanFlagAsh
12.01.21 | So what's your most played song this year |
MrSirLordGentleman
12.01.21 | does last.fm have a feature like that?
only had my account for a few months now so I can only see my weekly stats so far |
Sinternet
12.01.21 | "i tend to listen to full albums once and save the songs i like most (unless i love everything lol)"
yeah same the best songs all go into my megaplaylist
also loads of people cheat their numbers by playing stuff on mute overnight or in the background all day, so whenever someone has ridiculous numbers I know its faked
same with people on last.fm who have scrobbling bots set up and spam fake plays
really dont get it tbh there's like zero clout there |
Colton
12.01.21 | ^ @cygnatti |
Sinternet
12.01.21 | like if you manage to reach those kinda numbers organically either music is your job or you have zero social life or discernible interests outside of music and thus are pretty boring |
MrSirLordGentleman
12.01.21 | "same with people on last.fm who have scrobbling bots set up and spam fake plays"
is that a thing? like I really can't think why you'd do something like that |
Colton
12.01.21 | I do have pretty high numbers for certain songs though. I listened to Darkness by Sweet Trip 131 times this year for example |
AmericanFlagAsh
12.01.21 | "also loads of people cheat their numbers by playing stuff on mute overnight or in the background all day, so whenever someone has ridiculous numbers I know its faked

What the fuck why |
DoofDoof
12.01.21 | 30-50 plays for a favourite new song in 12 months sounds about right to me |
rabidfish
12.01.21 | my most played song is Drama by Erika de Casier at 27 plays. But my top 5 songs of the year are all from the same album. I think it's because i'm more of a full album person. So that means i probably played Sensational at least 25 times in its entirety. |
LeddSledd
12.01.21 | 15 plays for my favorite song
cannot grasp listening much more than that, let alone to the hundreds. I need to diversify between albums/artists or the music's effect wears off on me |
AmericanFlagAsh
12.01.21 | Good to know I'm not the insane one on my Instagram |
rabidfish
12.01.21 | normal people =/= sane |
Ryus
12.01.21 | my most played songs of the year have 71 and 56 plays |
Colton
12.01.21 | your argument makes no sense. how does having a high number of plays for specific bands or songs mean someone is boring or has no interests outside of music? for one, if music is your only hobby it's a pretty solid hobby. but you can also listen to music while doing countless other things. like working out, writing, doing art of some kind, building things, etc. or maybe people just listen to a lot of music at work or while studying. and how would the number of plays people have for a certain band or song determine that anyway? shouldn't it be based off the total amount of music you listen to?
i pretty much only listen to music when I'm either on my way to work, on my way back from work, on my way to the gym, at the gym, on my way home from the gym, or walking my dog. adds up to like 4 hours a day. if you can only listen to your favourite song like 15 times in a year I would question how much you even like music tbh |
MrSirLordGentleman
12.01.21 | I listen to music pretty much everytime I'm not doing something that doesn't allow me to |
onionbubs
12.01.21 | yea im jammin all day outside of classes and when i have to work on my own music, and i have been for like 3 ish years at this point. pretty easy to just have it in the background of everything ive got going on |
rabidfish
12.02.21 | i put on podcasts for work because i just can't focus right when i listen to music, while podcasts fall more gently on the background. |
KnewUser
12.02.21 | I forgot Spotify does this. Just checked mine out. My #1 is Don’t Blame the Rain by Jaye Jayle at a whopping 59 plays 😅 I must’ve been going through some shit. |
rockarollacola
12.02.21 | When I find a song that I absolutely adore or one that gives me goosebumps I deliberately avoid listening to it more than once a day. I want it to have that same punch for a long time. Be smart, and savor the flavor. |
Avagantamos
12.02.21 | on my current last.fm account I've used for 2 years now, my most played song has 51 scrobbles (Molly Brazy Cuban Doll by SpaceGhostpurrp) |
notagenius
12.02.21 | I will repeat a single song all day. Sometimes movies, TV shows as well. usually when I'm working, they make me feel safe and relaxed because I don't need to explore them. I've probably listened to Good Will Hunting hundreds of times. |
Pheromone
12.02.21 | i have apparently listened to the turning of our bones 61 times this year as according to spot-the-fy, lastfm has me with the same song at 66 |
Koris
12.02.21 | "This guy's Spotify Wrapped said he has played Easy On Me by Adele like 3400 times... wtf"
Goddamn, and I thought my 68 plays of Deacon Blues were a lot, lol |
sonictheplumber
12.02.21 | fuk spotify |
