Top 10 reasons why sports blow ass
1. Superteams (Nfl, nba)
2. Matches are contrived (esp. Boxing, MMA)
3. They are all friends (nba banana boat boys)
4. Corruption (mlb - astros. Baseball controversy, nfl- CTE)
5. Players make too much money (all major sports)
6. Subsidary problem of above - players don’t care or listen to managers
7. Sports commentary has become manifestly braindead (espn, Fox1, all sports talk radio)
8. They are a vehicle to promote business worship and “American values” (incessant advertising during all games)
9. Little parity (Nba and Lebron, Nfl and Brady)
10. They are emphatically unimportant. (Sports (among another things) are a way for the billionaire class to keep common people uninterested in and apathetic about politics; meanwhile they rape the working class by passing obscene tax cuts and crushing labour unions. But hey, how bout them cowboys Cletus!!) | |
