Also the non-mRNA J&J vaccine is not as effective against the primary strain, but works broadly against other strains, where-as the mRNA is highly effective against the primary strain but not-so much effective against the others. While I think more research should be done on mRNA's before broad use, the best thing about the mRNA being catapult into emergency use is it's potential versatility in curing future ailments. They're already working cures to HIV right now, it could be a thing of the past in a year.

Colton 08.14.21	I think we have enough data at this point to ascertain that vaccines are mostly safe and effective, given the size of the studies done and the way the vaccine actually works (basically just teaches your body how to fight off the spike protein that makes Covid so dangerous, without actually injecting Covid into your body). And also, it's not really logical to fear unknown effects from the vaccine when there are so many unknown effects of Covid itself, and the ones we do know of are quite bad. But I can also understand why the notion that a brand new drug that was developed in response to an emergency could have unknown side effects sounds somewhat intuitive and logical. A lot of people say anti-vaccine people are basically evil and selfish, but I don't think that's the case for the majority of them. I also think the notion that unvaccinated people are solely responsible for the uptick in cases and the delta variant is a bit of a premature conclusion given that we now know vaccinated people can still spread covid, and given that they are more likely to gather in large numbers due to less restrictions being placed on them, it's unclear whether the spread of covid falls solely on the shoulders of the unvaccinated. If it can spread even among vaccinated people, it's gonna continue to mutate either way. People should get vaccinated to prevent serious illness and prevent hospitals from being overrun but the argument of "unvaccinated people are killing our kids" is not fully substantiated at this point

For right now, anything that might argue against the vaccines being 100% effective AND safe is being suppressed/hidden/shouted down. I'm vaccinated. On the whole, based on my own experience, I'd lean towards saying it's probably better to be vaccinated than not. But since getting vaccinated, I've had a variety of (fairly serious) health issues that I never had before, and just within my small circle of people I know, there are three or four others who've had the same experience. It could all be coincidence - also since being vaccinated, my daughter's car died, my boiler broke down twice and my house's electricity has had major problems, so clearly coincidences can happen. But I am certainly noticing the illnesses I and others have had after the fact, and if they're even studying this, I can't find any record of it. (And I don't have faith that either the government or the media would report on it unless it was so prevalent that they couldn't deny it.) My wife and I are both vaccinated (and she hasn't had any problems). My adult kids and my daughter's boyfriend live with us and are not (although my kids are starting to think about it). On the whole, I guess I'd prefer that they get it than not. But I'm not 100% confident, and I'm certainly not gung ho about it.

There were 31 reported blood clots out of 2.7 million vaccinated people with the AZ and even less with the J&J, which is a laughably small proportion. I find it very suspicious that those vaccines got a bad rap when there are at least as many anecdotal cases (including from doctors) of patients getting blood clots or otherwise expiring abruptly after receiving the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. You should always assume that comical levels of corruption are involved in anything related to the pharmaceutical industry.

However, I did wear a mask and take the vaccine since I don't believe it's the mark of the beast from Bill Gates and a mask in certain situations is really not a burden in my eyes (I'll never wear one outside though). That being said, in no way do I or would I support the segregation of people based on if they took the vaccine. Also, fuck vaccine passports. It is equally likely that the virus leaked from a pharmaceutical company in the USA, it would be extremely easy for the company to cover it up and blame China given how many health care professionals they pay off. The only people who would know for sure are virologists who have been studying viral vectors that use ACE 2 receptors.
