hey people thought i'd throw out some albums i been listening to that could use some love on here and in general

WASTELAND: What Ails Our People Is Clear
batshit insane basically, these guys wrote a philosophical manifesto about the dangers and damages of satire via this surreal punk rock opera where every song is from the perspective of a different character in this weird alternate universe wasteland that seems to function in dream logic (there's a song where an artist is being interviewed by a music journalist but then the artist turns into a horse and can't speak anymore then the journalist becomes a giant ball of slime and consumes the horse artist, in my understanding) sounds pretentious as hell possibly but it works because the music is so fucking good and i can't wait to see them live at some point because i think it'll be otherworldly | | 7 |  | Yung

i thought this was fairly bland at first but something keeps me coming back to it, idk it's just really solid band music and thoughtful and confident sounding and good for like driving on a highway with the windows down | | 8 |  | underscores

i heard someone say this is like trout mask replica in 2021 and i can definitely see that... i think people will either love or hate this but i love it and genuinely think it takes a wild fucking mind to come up with some of this stuff and still make it sound good and catchy, at least to my ears but ye give it a chance | | 9 |  | kitchen

also a 2020 album, and there's something pure and elemental and ancient about this music, from the future but also the distant past, the music robots make but also it's banging rocks together in a cave... decades of dust and weird poetic phases, as the artist's bandcamp says, beautiful blurry beats and sounds | |
