06.18.21 | Agree with self-titled being the worst (though I still like it).
My own ranking:
Toxicity > Mezmerize > Hypnotize > STA! (though I do appreciate you ranking it high, since I love it) > s/t |

06.19.21 | Bro i suggest not deleting negative comments, making fun of them is the best approach

06.19.21 | Isn't it ultimately their choice to delete them though? Sometimes removing and ignoring is the best approach. |

06.19.21 | Sure if they want to do so that's completely fair, I just think lists are more fun/useful when you can have dialogue |

06.19.21 | Interesting that you put Hypnotize ahead of Mezmerize. Not saying that's a "bad" thing -- though I don't agree personally -- but I don't tend to see that a lot. |

06.19.21 | I just wanna say that Mezmerize is in my top 15 albums of all time, and was in my top 10 before for a few years before I joined Sputnik. It's probably the System album I've listened to most and it has a lot of my favourite songs of all time on it.
For example, Lost in Hollywood will always have a place in my top 10. Radio/Video was my favourite SOAD song when I was still a new fan. Hell, I even love the songs commonly regarded as weaker/the worst like Soldier Side Intro and Old School Hollywood.
And as for the lower rankings of the more beloved albums, I prefer the sound of Mezmerize and Hypnotize and STA! is almost a bridge between the earlier sound and the later sound. Examples of both can be found. For example, Roulette sounds like a precursor to the Mez/Hyp sound. |

06.20.21 | I never thought about that when it came to "Roulette," but you're absolutely right. Definitely bridges the gap between s/t/Toxicity-era SOAD and Mezmerize/Hypnotize.
I also agree that those two albums are better than the debut, since I prefer SOAD's more off-the-handle sound when it has great hooks to offset the mania, like it does on Mezmerize (and to a lesser extent, Steal This Album!), while Toxicity and Hypnotize benefit from a sense of tight focus. I do like the self-titled -- any album with songs like "Suite-Pee" (I most humbly beg to differ with you when it comes to this song, but that's just me), "Spiders," "Soil," "Darts," and "P.L.U.C.K." is certainly worthy -- but there are also moments that just don't quite come together for me, with songs like "Ddevil" (and especially "Peephole" and "CUBErt") not feeling as fully formed as a lot of what they'd do later.
I will also say that I agree about "Lost in Hollywood" and "Radio/Video" as well. Two amazing songs that rank among SOAD's very best. :-) |
Supercoolguy64
06.20.21 | Peephole is like top 20 SOAD doe |

06.20.21 | I must disagree as humbly as possible. For me, it's bottom 5 without question (sitting alongside the likes of songs like "CUBErt," "Fuck the System," and "Attack"). |

06.20.21 | My favorite comments are the ones that read like they're giving life advice. "Yeah buddy, just switch 5 with 1, and you'll be good :) Otherwise, great list!"
Anyway, cool seeing Mesmerize at 1 |

06.20.21 | Mezmerize was my first SOAD album as well. Heard it when it came out when I was 12, have loved them ever since. :-) |
