Fleet Foxes Ranked

I'm back! Sadly, I'm not bringing you another list where I ask you a question, copy your answers and call it a day. Instead, I'm ranking the discography of my favourite folk band (you should probably recommend me some more), Fleet Foxes.
5Fleet Foxes
Sun Giant

Rating: 3.6/5
The EP that started it all. Standing at only 5 tracks and 20 minutes, Sun Giant is the most concise FF release to date. Their music got a lot better after this EP, but there's still some great songs on here, especially Drops in the River and of course Mykonos.

Fleet Foxes

Rating: 3.8/5
Probably controversial but the FF self-titled is my least favourite studio album of theirs. While it has a lot of great songs (White Winter Hymnal, Ragged Wood, He Doesn't Know Why), many of the tracks feel unfinished. FF kept on perfecting their craft after this debut.
3Fleet Foxes
Shore

Rating: 4.0/5
Shore is by far FF's most accessible album. After the ambitious Crack-Up, the band went back to a simpler style, writing an album that feels like its cover art. This rubbed some people the wrong way, but I find Shore to be a great album, albeit less amazing than their previous records. Standout-tracks include Featherweight, Maestranza, and Quiet Air / Gloria.
2Fleet Foxes
Helplessness Blues

Rating: 4.4/5
Apparently the FF album of choice among fans, and why not? It's an undeniably great album. While the title track clearly takes the cake here, both "The Plains / Bitter Dancer" and "The Shrine / An Argument" are some of FF's best long songs.

Crack-Up

Rating: 4.5/5
Another FF album that split the fanbase. While some found the experimentation on this album to be a little pretentious, I think it works out beautifully. This album is a grower, one that I had to listen to five - maybe six - times before it finally clicked. Interestingly, the most popular song of this album, If You Need To Keep Time On Me, is among the weaker songs on the tracklist. The standouts include Cassius, Third of May, Kept Woman, and the title track.
