Final Fantasy Ranked + Favorite Turn Based RPGs

Going by the japanese numbering to avoid confusion. Not all FF games are on this list. If you dont see it, it means i havent played it. The ranked games are mainline FF games only. Everything after the main FF games is not ranked.
1The Primals
All Love is True Love

Final Fantasy VII

I cant remember if it was FF7 that was my first mainline FF game or if it was that FF 1 and 2 bundle on the GBA, but either way this was an early game in my RPG career. It introduced me to a lot of new concepts at my young age, and has always been my favorite.
2Fragments of Unbecoming
Skywards: A Sylphe's Ascension

Final Fantasy IX

I like the throwback angle they took with this one.
3Molested Divinity
Unearthing The Void

Final Fantasy IV (GBA version)

This and FF6 are very close for me, but this one beats it out because i think the characters were better. The ability to swap characters provides more choice, but i think the characters always suffer because of it. Plus 6 got too grindy.
Lesions of a Different Kind

Final Fantasy VI

Still feels like a massive epic.
5Black Thought
Streams of Thought, Vol. 3: Cane and Abel

Final Fantasy (GBA version)

Theres something i like about the straightforwardness, the no-frills nature of this game. Your characters dont talk and the story is very basic. Its a story of warriors of light vs the forces of evil, and it doesnt pretend to be anything more.
6Run the Jewels

Final Fantasy X

I have mixed feelings on this one. Tidus is fucking obnoxious, the romance is forced, and taking away the world map in favor of totally linear paths to take throughout pretty much the whole game was a big fuck-up. I didnt feel very immersed. But there were aspects of the story that i liked, and the battles were mostly fun. I wouldnt play it again, but im glad i tried it.
7Kairon IRSE!

Final Fantasy V

The story and characters were very lacking. This one felt like a slog to get through.
Death Lust

Final Fantasy II

Same as V, but even worse.
9Dark Buddha Rising

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

its still weird to me that this game exists.
10Causa Sui

Paper Mario

We didnt get a Mario RPG 2 because Square and Nintendo had a falling out, but what they created to fill that gap was maybe just as good.
The Great Dismal

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

Better than the original in some ways, but the first one has that lightning in a bottle factor.
12Dimension Zero
Silent Night Fever

Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga

Probably the closest thing out there to Super Mario RPG. Great humor and a really fun combat system, ive played this one countless times.

Chrono Trigger

Frog is one of the cutest characters ever.
Aldrig i livet

One of the weirdest and most unique games ive ever played.
15Deus Mortem
The Fiery Blood

Divinity: Original Sin II

I haven't gotten very far on this one yet, but i feel safe about putting it up here. The amount of choice you have while tackling quests and combat is amazing. Plus its a great co-op game.
The Tomb Within

Final Fantasy Legend III

I believe this was the first Final Fantasy i ever played and possibly my first RPG (after Pokemon, of course). I still think its a great little RPG for the original Gameboy. The music is very memorable.
