Albums I hyper-obsessively listened to
A look back at albums that I couldn't stop playing for a few months straight. Meaning I hardly listened to anything else at the time. Usually I play a variety of things, even with my favorites. These aren't my favorite albums necessarily , but at the time I was blown away enough to put everything else on hold.
When I was 15, I thought this was the coolest thing I ever heard. I just played it over and over and over again.
When I was 19, I thought this was the greatest Beatles album. I've changed my mind but for a time this was getting all the attention.
|3||Alice in Chains|
Jar of Flies
I heard this long before but for some reason, around age 20 or so, I put this on everyday.
Right after Jar of Flies, I went on a kick with this album for a few months. I guess I was really digging the acoustic sound at the time

Age 21 or so. a live bootleg my friend gave to me. I wore it the fuck out. I don't even think it plays anymore.
Age 23. Shitty album cover, great album. Played it every day for a good amount of time. Not sure why, they have better albums.
Hail to the Thief
23 or so. Bought it the day it came out, but really became obsessed with it two years later.
25 or so. I bought this several years earlier, but listened to it maybe twice then shelved it. A friend of mine saw that I had it and suggested I put it on. I couldn't stop listening to it for about 6-8 months after
27ish. Several times a day for a while
|10||The Flaming Lips|
The Soft Bulletin
I still go on obsessive tears with this one.....what an album!
Good News for People Who Love Bad News
same as soft bulletin
|12||Type O Negative|
I forgot to include this one. I was about 14. I had never heard anything like it. I still think they have a great sound, but looking back some of the lyrics are awful and it can be too vampire-y at times. But really, this album blew me away.
Good new user, especially cuz of Ween
Here's a music rec I think you'll be into based on these: Mercury Rev- Yerself Is Steam
bro too many lists for one day chill
@parksungjoon whatever. We're in a pandemic and I like making music lists. You don't have to click on them:/
... no those are the site rules my dude
park's right though, it's kinda like an unspoken rule to only make 1 list a day
Chat on other people's lists or review stuff, there's a lot of other things to do on Sputnik
word. got it, thanks.
Dont listen to these nerds list it up bitch
Lol nah tho whats your favorite beatles album now
No it's cool I really didn't know. I don't see the site rules, but one list a day I can handle. I should be more interactive anyway. I think the white album is the best, but Revolver has Eleanor rigby and tomorrow never knows and those are prob my two favorite songs ever and that's good as well. so a toss up between the two.
Ahhh white album guy nice
@ArsMoriendi I'll check it out I never really gave Mercury Rev a fair shot
1 and 3 - hell yes!!!
Respect for jar of flies and CA
1 and 8 through 11 niceeee
Since no one explained the why, one list/review per day helps cut down on lists getting lost in the shuffle. Someone might have put hours into a list and have it bumped off the front page by someone spamming their top ten bands from every subgenre of metal.
In any case, nice list! I've definitely listened to California a few dozen times.
@Emim thanks for the information. it makes sense, and I like the rule now that I understand it.....and yeah man, California is some face-melting shit!!!
