Contenders for My 3000th Rating

I've got ten ratings to go to reach 3000 on this site. Nine of them were posted on my list last night. I received five recommendations for # 3000. In a couple of days, I'll use a random number generator to see which of these will be #3000. (But as a courtesy to the Users who gave me recs, I'll rate all five albums, even if only one of them can be #3000.)
1The Monochrome Set
Strange Boutique

1980 - Post Punk/Indie Pop/Indie Rock

Kind of cool album. I'm surprised that not only had I never heard of these guys, but neither had my wife, especially since their history is kind of entwined with that of Adam Ant. 3.0
2Godcaster
Long Haired Locusts

2020 - Folk/Rock/Experimental

Thanks for the rec, but this one definitely wasn't for me. The musicianship is good, but the music is very busy, and what I especially don't like is it's very stop-and-start. (The guitar is also fairly funky, which isn't really my taste.) And I'm not a fan of the vocals either. So this one is a thanks-but-no-thanks. 2.0
3Crippled Black Phoenix
Ellengaest

Rec'd by Dewinged

2020 - Post Rock/Progressive Rock/Stoner Rock

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSHkQICpeng

I liked it. I liked the male vocalist, the songs and the musical arrangements. About the only negative is I wasn't all that fond of the female vocalist. This is unusual for me, but there you have it. Still, a strong LP. 3.5
4Unleashing My Demons
Tran(ce)scen(e)dance

2014 - Trance/Metalcore/Post Hardcore

Ho boy. I really wanted to give this a better mark than everybody else did. (And I guess I kind of did, since the overwhelming majority gave it a 1.) When the music first kicks in, I thought, "This isn't so bad." But then the vocals kicked in. The dirty singer sounds uncomfortably like Cookie Monster, and the clean singer is not only off key with his wispy little voice, he's usually out of time with the music as well. Even the synthesist loses his timing now and then. I wish this was a put up job, but I have a feeling these kids are really trying. 1.5 for the effort, and for the times when the synthesist isn't out of time.

The Way to Avalon

2019 - Ambient/Experimental/Electronic

This is an album of really nice dungeon synth that sounds like it belongs in either Arthurian legend (hence, "The Way to Avalon") or a Lord of the Rings movie. Might be my favorite of them all. 3.5
