| Metallica Ranked
Not gonna include Hardwired because I don't know if I'm ever gonna listen to that one | 9 | | Metallica ReLoad
Screw this one, seriously.I don't need 76 minutes of Load B-Sides, Lars doing nothing impressive, and James being annoying as ever. This is truly Metallica at their worst. It doesn't matter if you look at this as a Metallica album or as any other band's album, it's still horrible. Fuel is kinda okay, The Unforgiven II is acceptable though ten times worse than the original, and the rest of this shouldn't have been released. | 8 | | Metallica St. Anger
Not last place? Surprised? Honestly, this isn't THAT bad. I actually kind of like it, but again, most of the songs are way too long. Did Invisble Kid, Some Kind of Monster, and All Within My Hands really have to be over 8 minutes long? This thing is 75 minutes long, seventy five! | 7 | | Metallica Load
This actually kinds of kicks ass, and it would be a great Hard Rock album if it wasn't so damn long. One last moment of greatness before Metallica went into their worst phase. | 6 | | Metallica Death Magnetic
I should honestly relisten to this, it's Metallica's "return to form". Of course, it doesn't actually quite reach the greatness of their Thrash phase, but the songwriting is excellent again and there aren't many annoying parts as was the case with ReLoad and St. Anger. However, the production is dry as sandpaper | 5 | | Metallica Kill 'Em All
What a great debut. This one still sounds kind of punk rock-esque, but that's not a problem. The biggest problem with this are James Hetfield's vocals. | 4 | | Metallica Metallica
Great record, best production of any Metallica album, and most of the songs are pretty fantastic. Some are a tad too long though. | 3 | | Metallica ...And Justice for All
This has their best songwriting (probably?), but the production is even worse than on Master of Puppets. How did they do it? I'm almost impressed. Lars is at his peak here and James sounds amazing too, since he hasnt reached his phase where he ends every sentence on -ah! or yeah!. | 2 | | Metallica Master of Puppets
Classic but the flat production hasn't aged well at all. Even Kill 'Em All sounds better than this. However, the songwriting is as good if not better than on RtL. Battery and the title track are some of the best Thrash songs I know | 1 | | Metallica Ride the Lightning
This is better than Master of Puppets because of the killer production. Not one weak song on this (even Escape is catchy and they wrote that one in like 20 minutes or something) | |

09.20.20 | 1 and 2 are 1 and 2.
4 is 3 though. And 5 is 4.
Also, no love for Memory Remains or Low Mans Lyric? | Morningrise767
09.20.20 | 3 and 1 are my top 2
My favourite between those two change depending on my mood haha | HalfManHalfAmazing
09.20.20 | I love putting on Ride the Lightning at work | Pikazilla
09.20.20 | 3 is not 1, agreed | YRI
09.20.20 | @ReturnToRock
Yeah I forgot Memory Remains, that one's good too. Don't care for LML | Pangea
09.20.20 | great ranking. i agree with most of it | farmerobama
09.20.20 | I can agree to some extent that ReLoad has worse/more boring songs on it, but please listen to it on good headphones/hi-fi. The production on St.Anger is so bad (not just the drums) that it baffles me till this day how it got released. It's so fucking bad I rather listen to ReLoad anyday (which I still don't want to do lol) | Groundking
09.20.20 | AJFA should be lower, the production absolutely ruins it. Also too many of the songs go on for too long. | JDubb
09.20.20 | 1 is 1. | ExtinguishingTheSun
09.20.20 | If you like Death Magnetic I don't see any point in avoiding Hardwired
1 is 1 [2] | Morningrise767
09.20.20 | “AJFA should be lower” nah it’s def top 3 imo
And yes, if you enjoyed Death Magnetic, no reason to not check out Hardwired as mentioned above | Groundking
09.20.20 | It would have been if Lars wasn't such a prick in production, but it's nearly unlistenable to me the way it is. | Morningrise767
09.20.20 | Yeah I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I actually like the dry, punchy sound to AJFA haha | Ikarus14
09.20.20 | Damn. You sound pretty passionate in your descriptions. You OK dude? | rockarollacola
09.21.20 | I commend the balls on you for posting a Metallica ranked list. RTL or bust. Load rocks, Reload fucking sucks but Fuel and Low Man's Lyrics are great. | Sinternet
09.21.20 | Lulu is 1 | deathschool
09.21.20 | 1 and 5 are 1 and 2. MoP is a decent step down at 3. Don’t care about any of their other albums these days. | bigweinerdon
09.21.20 | correct top 3 | AlexKzillion
09.21.20 | Lmao the Reload hate
Fuel, Memory, Devil's Dance, Unforgiven II, Low Man's Lyric, and Fixxxer are all quality. I'll even throw Carpe Diem in there. | YRI
09.21.20 | @farmerobama
I actually find the production on St. Anger kind of enjoyable, the drums sound punchy and the guitars sound heavy. And at least the album brings something interesting to the able, which I can't say for ReLoad
@Groundking
I agree that some songs (especially the title track and To Live Is to Die) go on for way too long.
@Ikarus14
Yeah bud. Just showing some passion about music
@TheMrAlexK
I can't even remember half of the tracks of ReLoad. While Fuel, TMR, TU2 are all pretty okay, the don't make up for the plethora of crap on that laughable album. |
