Metallica Ranked

Not gonna include Hardwired because I don't know if I'm ever gonna listen to that one
9Metallica
ReLoad

Screw this one, seriously.I don't need 76 minutes of Load B-Sides, Lars doing nothing impressive, and James being annoying as ever. This is truly Metallica at their worst. It doesn't matter if you look at this as a Metallica album or as any other band's album, it's still horrible. Fuel is kinda okay, The Unforgiven II is acceptable though ten times worse than the original, and the rest of this shouldn't have been released.
8Metallica
St. Anger

Not last place? Surprised? Honestly, this isn't THAT bad. I actually kind of like it, but again, most of the songs are way too long. Did Invisble Kid, Some Kind of Monster, and All Within My Hands really have to be over 8 minutes long? This thing is 75 minutes long, seventy five!
7Metallica
Load

This actually kinds of kicks ass, and it would be a great Hard Rock album if it wasn't so damn long. One last moment of greatness before Metallica went into their worst phase.
6Metallica
Death Magnetic

I should honestly relisten to this, it's Metallica's "return to form". Of course, it doesn't actually quite reach the greatness of their Thrash phase, but the songwriting is excellent again and there aren't many annoying parts as was the case with ReLoad and St. Anger. However, the production is dry as sandpaper
5Metallica
Kill 'Em All

What a great debut. This one still sounds kind of punk rock-esque, but that's not a problem. The biggest problem with this are James Hetfield's vocals.
4Metallica
Metallica

Great record, best production of any Metallica album, and most of the songs are pretty fantastic. Some are a tad too long though.
3Metallica
...And Justice for All

This has their best songwriting (probably?), but the production is even worse than on Master of Puppets. How did they do it? I'm almost impressed. Lars is at his peak here and James sounds amazing too, since he hasnt reached his phase where he ends every sentence on -ah! or yeah!.
2Metallica
Master of Puppets

Classic but the flat production hasn't aged well at all. Even Kill 'Em All sounds better than this. However, the songwriting is as good if not better than on RtL. Battery and the title track are some of the best Thrash songs I know
1Metallica
Ride the Lightning

This is better than Master of Puppets because of the killer production. Not one weak song on this (even Escape is catchy and they wrote that one in like 20 minutes or something)
