People will lose interest and the players will likely not come to terms with a new cba quickly and we wont see baseball for a while |

Agreed 100 percent. Baseball is great but it needs to adopt to modern times and get more flashy guys. Even guys like Ken Griffey Jr back in the day were marketable as heck. I doubt most Americans would recognise Trout and he's already one of the all time greats imo.
I think his passiveness in marketing himself is a reflection of his overall character. The Angels haven't done shit for him and yet he'll probably end up playing there his whole career. |

Amen to this, and this is why so many of Manfred's attempts to speed up the game are so fucking dumb. Like, a 3 batter minimum isn't gonna convert a single non-baseball fan into a baseball fan, but it sure as hell might turn current fans off of baseball. |

I think it would be cogent to just wait until next spring and restart baseball and get a true season in for the reason satty gave. if my team wins it all their championship will seem invalid. though with revenue lost already and fans clamoring to bring it back or else leave, they cant afford not to have a season-especially playoffs. there will be positive tests constantly but that is going to be the new normal so long as the media glorifies every new case that affects a famous person. im not saying people who test positive shouldn't be quarantined but why is it that every single person gets the headlines in the news for a positive test. how much longer is that going to be necessary. |
