Albums that Have Kept Me Sane During Quarantine :]
1Novembre
The Blue

I only discovered Novembre a few months ago, but they have quickly catapulted themselves to the pantheon of my favorite bands. I have never heard a metal band that has such a strong sense of romanticism as them. It is astonishing to me that they aren't bigger, as they were really the originators in my opinion of the more ethereal oneiric stylings of metal.
2Pain of Salvation
Remedy Lane

Pain of Salvation is yet another band that I discovered fairly recently. I've heard about them for years, but I never gave them a chance until a few months ago. Upon hearing "Remedy Lane" I was absolutely floored. Don't get me wrong. Prog is one of my favorite subgenre's of music, but for the most part I wouldn't generally describe it as a very empathic type of music. Pain of Salvation really shine in their ability to compliment their epic complex compositions with highly dramatic and emotive subject matter.
3Conjurer (UK)
Mire

Conjurer to me is a musical match made in heaven. Their melange of black metal, sludge, and hardcore is godly. The beauty of Conjurer is their dynamism. They have some of the heaviest riffs in the game such as present in tracks like "Hollow" and "Of Flesh Weaker Than Ash" but they also have some of the most beautifully tragic passages I've ever heard ("Thankless" and "The Mire".
4Erdve
Vaitojimas

Erdve's "Vaitojimas" is one of the most cavernous and heavy pieces of music I've ever heard. Though they aren't as dynamic as many post-influenced bands, their blend of heaviness is perfectly conceived with tortured vocals and a cthonic rhythm section.
5Alcest
Les Voyages De L'Âme

This has been one of my favorite bands and albums since I was a literal kid, but I've been leaning especially heavy on them recently in quarantine. What better band to soothe and heal than this one. They just remind me of home.
