Albums that inspire me to pick up bass
A list of albums that no matter where I am make me wish I had my bass with me |
1 | | Night Verses From the Gallery of Sleep
The technicality of the musicianship here is superb and all created by just 3 guys. The range of techniques used is just staggering. |
2 | | The Arusha Accord Juracan
This EP is short in length but makes up for it in cramming so many cool ideas. the first 2 tracks are great mathcore tracks, but its the last 4 tracks that really make for interesting listening, with some toolesqe lines and melodies. |
3 | | Dance Gavin Dance Instant Gratification
I love all of DGD, but this is the album that made me sit up and listen to them properly. The blend of styles snd transitions on showcase so much talent. |
4 | | Protest the Hero Fortress
This album truly shows you can play fast and clean at the same time and you don't have to sacrifice technicality for great songs. |
5 | | Thrice The Alchemy Index Vols. I & II
The dichotomy between the 2 EPs makes for such an interesting listen. The distorted lines in fire and clean tones in water work perfectly to create the atmospheres of those elements. |
6 | | Glassjaw Coloring Book
Of all of Glassjaw's output this is the one I keep coming back to, its has great use of effects and sounds to create a more expansive sound than their previous albums. |
7 | | Periphery Periphery II: This Time It's Personal
Its hard to pick one specific album from Periphery, but I think this one which made me fall in love with their sound. |
8 | | Queens of the Stone Age ...Like Clockwork
The starting line of 'just keep your eyes peeled' is enough to make me smile. just a great album through and through. |
9 | | TesseracT Sonder
Its not the most loved of their albums, but I like what they tried to do here and I love the whole feel of the album. |
10 | | Norma Jean Polar Similar
I love how dense this album sounds and the dark chord structures create some perfect heavy songs |
