Last Concert - Ichiko Aoba
Best Concert - heck idk?? Circle Takes the Square
Worst Concert - Probably mwY/La Dispute/Coheed, but only because I was in a weird mood and mwY's sound was crud. Meeting Aaron Weiss after >>> the actual show
Loudest Concert - Melt-Banana, ez
Seen the most - Coheed
Most surprising - Rolo Tomassi, didn't realise how much harder they go live than on record
Next concert - Might make it to Otoboke Beaver next month, not sure
Wish I'd seen - St. Vincent. Was that or miss my own film premiere, I made the wrong choice

01.27.20 | budgie, Animal Collective story plz? |
budgie
01.27.20 | something happened around the year 2012 where everyone turned into a loser and hanging out at shows became lame because everyone was a loser. idk how to explain it. everything just became lame
"budgie, Animal Collective story plz?" my basically bfff at the time was huge into that poofy music and she dragged me along to LA to watch those nerds play the most boring music and everyone at that show was like a proto-hipster and it was just awful. better than raves but i don't think raves are included in this list |
SymbolicInTime
01.27.20 | First Concert - Disturbed, was 11 at the time
Last Concert - Tool
Best Concert - Tool (at a festival appearance, second time seeing them recently was still great but definitely not as good)
Worst Concert - hard to say, hardly keep track of some of the shitty festival bands I've seen. Probably Fever 333. They have the live energy, but when your music is as bad as theirs, that means nothing.
Loudest Concert - Killing Joke. The drums were beyond deafening.
Seen the most - theres like a 10-way tie of bands I've seen twice. Tool, Senses Fail, Neck Deep, etc.
Most surprising - Real Friends or Passion Pit
Next concert - Alkaline Trio and Bad Religion
Wish I'd seen - I NEEEEEEEED to see Iron Maiden before they retire |

Last Concert - The Sound of Animals Fighting/The Saddest Landscape, March of last year
Best Concert - At the Drive-In at Shaky Knees 2016
Worst Concert - Avenged Sevenfold/Buckcherry/Shinedown/Saving Abel. My friends dragged me there when I was like 15.
Loudest Concert - Deafheaven/Perfect Pussy at a Pitchfork aftershow in 2014. Took like a week for my ears to stop ringing
Seen the most - Tie between Deafheaven and Torche (I think)
Most surprising - KEN mode in 2018. I knew they would be good, but I was floored at just how raw they were
Next concert - None for the foreseeable future
Wish I'd seen - The Dillinger Escape Plan. I had tickets to see them in Nov 2016, but then the election happened and I was in the opposite of a concert mood. Then they decided to disband and I've been kicking myself ever since |

01.27.20 | First Concert - The Beatles ( I'd probably compare it to the Stones show I saw, but a little more boring. Just guys in suits jumping up and down. I thought it was kind of goofy)
Last Concert - Blink 182
Best Concert - MC5 + Stooges
Worst Concert - Big Star
Loudest Concert - MC5 + Stooges
Seen the most - Ramones
Most surprising - Rolling Stones (Kind of boring, not really my thing)

01.28.20 | They're really good people yeah. I only got to speak with Colin a couple times and with Levy once, but you can just tell they're incredibly nice guys. Being Belgian I got to seem them quite a few times, and they blew my mind every single time. Glad you found a community through them man |
Deez
01.28.20 | Theyre very open man in that way. It comes from the HxC scene they grew up in not to be the rock star with fans. It does get full on as they have a pretty dedicated fanbase and Ive heard some weird stories but they always have time for people. Colin especially being the singer gets most of that like Ive legit seen queues waiting to talk to him but he rarely shys away. And some of them are always in or around the merch and shit. Just normal guys playing music. How it should be. |
BigPleb
01.28.20 | First Concert - Kaiser Chiefs

BAT
01.28.20 | First Concert - summer slaughter 09? necrophagist/suffocation/origin/darkest hour/ beneath the massacre / buncha deathcore, i had been to localband houseshows prior but that was my first 'real' concert
last concert - either signs of the swarm/visceral disgorge/disentomb oooorr #12 looks like you, i mayb forgetting one
best concert - plastic beach tour gorillaz
worst concert - the show in general was good buut vital remains fucking blewww when i saw them (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrxeHr_s868)
loudest - probably something like napalm death, i've seen 'heavier' bands buut they sounded likee oldschool cellphone footage, maxed. tdep was pretty loud when i saw them aswell.
seen the most - most likely suffocation, 5+ times. bands i've lost count buut seen roughly 3 or more times : dying fetus, meshuggah, periphery, visceral disgorge, defeated sanity, the faceless, animals as leaders annd a few im blanking on.
most surprising - primus, walked in only knowing a handful of songs and came out a obsessed fan. i was surprised at how heavy their
material is live, theyre meshuggah levels of low end. origin live back in 2009 for antithesis was mindblowing.
next concert - my brothers coming back to town for periphery so i'll probably goto that, defeated sanity / origin / beneath the massacres gonna be sweet
wish - faith no more, cynic, cave-in, atdi, brainiac, deeds of flesh, deicide, beastie boys, mindless self indulgence, kayo dot for starters |
Bedex
01.28.20 | Yeah that's shown in his singing back to the audience too. Used to sing in the crowd even. When I spoke to them it was around merch every time, they always hang there which is really cool. Colin's interviews are really interesting too - these dudes have stuff to say.
Anyway I'll stop hijacking the thread with my Amenra fanboying but good stuff dude |
wham49
01.28.20 | Worst. Slipknot, they were absolutely terrible
Surprising. Marilyn Manson, they were unbelievable |
BAT
01.28.20 | oh umm another 'most surprising' one i forgot was dj shadow prolly like 2011/2012, he had this elaborate stage show where his turntables were in a rotating pod that had like 4-5 projectors turning it into some perspective nonsense, dude went hard though people were moshpitting to building steam |
budgie

Sinternet
01.28.20 | First Concert - We Came as Romans/The Color Morale/CVhunk no Captain Chunk/Palm Reader - look it was cheap and i was 16 ok. palm reader slay though and wcar were pretty decent tbf
Last Concert - Pom Poko/Orchards - two very exciting young bands (orchards debut album coming out very soon) both put on a hell of a show and had such good energy
Best Concert - mewithoutYou/The World is a Beautiful Place.../Delta Sleep - stacked lineup, and every band pulled their wait. Hearing January 1979 live though was of course the highlight
Worst Concert - Aside from my first I struggle to think of any that were particularly bad. However I went with a friend to a Suuns gig and had a runin with some people i knew and dearly wished to avoid which put a damper on what was otherwise a decent show.
Loudest Concert - Swans for sure. 3 hour set and i forgot my fucking earplugs, worth it though
Seen the most - Shonen Knife - they seem to do the UK gig route every year and me and my friend have made to 3 or 4 now, pretty damn consistently fun
Most surprising - The Story So Far - one of the most insane shows i've ever seen, insane pit which I didn't expect at fucking scrawny whiteboy pop punk show. Some chick busted her eye and there was blood everywhere
Next concert - still figuring that out, might go see menzingers and spanish love songs but kinda broke atm and may just wait til summer
Wish I'd seen - Julien Baker just as Sprained Ankle dropped. Was gonna go with a friend but she pulled out at the last minute and I was fairly ill so I said fuck it. Regret it. Also missed the ETID gig I had tickets for because of exams. I do still want to see rise against before tim's voice completely breaks (or at least anymore than it has), so much childhood nostalgia |
Deez
01.28.20 | Swans is another one ive missed god knows how many times because of work or being out of the country. |
bigguytoo9
01.28.20 | I saw Swans a few years ago and ST VINCENT for her debut album (opening for Arcade Fire, Neon Bible tour) and honestly anyone wanting to see St Vincent, it was not very good. Maybe her newer stuff sounds good live but when I saw her back then it was BAD. |
botulist
01.28.20 | First Concert - la bouche, eurotrash pop, I was 12, snuck in with my older cousin who was fucked on molly.

Wish I'd seen - Kyuss (saw Kyuss 'Lives' 2011 but not the same) |

01.28.20 | First Concert - Linkin Park, P.O.D., Hoobastank, Story of the Year
Last Concert - Jeromes Dream, Loma Prieta, Lord Snow
Best Concert - Neutral Milk Hotel
Worst Concert - Haven't really had a bad concert experience yet, worst band I've seen live is Pierce the Veil
Loudest Concert - Defeater
Seen the most - The Chariot, mewithoutYou
Most surprising - A Day To Remember was surprisingly solid when I saw them in like, 2008 or 2009
Next concert - Not sure :/
Wish I'd seen - The Dillinger Escape Plan

Minushuman24
01.28.20 | First Concert - Ozzy Osbourne, 2011
Last Concert - GZA, 2020
Best Concert - Misfits
Worst Concert - Bad Brains, horribly depressing
Loudest Concert - Boris, vomitself in a small venue man.
Seen the most - Dillinger Four, The Wonder Years, The Menzingers (x6)
Most surprising - Living Colour was surprisingly one of the best sets at riot fest a while back
Next concert - Was gonna be Thrice, but new job ruined that. Now it's either I.V., Murf, or for an actual bigger show, Wire
Wish I'd seen - Soundgarden |

01.28.20 | First Concert - Aerosmith w/ Joan Jett & The Blackhearts OR New Kids On The Block (depends on which of my parents you ask) [1988]
Last Concert - Tigers Jaw w/ Culture Abuse [2019]
Best Concert - Have Heart reunion-Boston set, first show of reunion [2019] (tied with Roger Waters performing "The Wall" [2013])
Worst Concert - Nothing w/ Basement [2019]
Loudest Concert - Whirr w/ Cloakroom [2014]
Seen the most - mewithoutYou and Anthony Green (solo and other projects) [2003-2019]
Most surprising - The Sound Of Animals Fighting [2019]
Next concert - mewithoutYou w/ Drug Church [2020]
Wish I'd seen - Korn/Marilyn Manson (1996 era) OR Have A Nice Life (2008 era) |
Minushuman24
01.28.20 | God I wish I went to that Have Heart show. |
Trifolium
01.28.20 | First Concert - Cradle of Filth, during their Nymphetamine shows. No regrets!!!
Last Concert - Balthazar (BE), always a great night.
Best Concert - Portishead, during their Third-tour. Sorry Deez, you should absolutely go see them if you get the chance. Mesmerizing.
Worst Concert - Probably VNV Nation. They were so bad, really disappointing. Even teenage me couldn't see through that.
Loudest Concert - Holy Fuck. Dude, these guys are L O U D.
Seen the most - Cradle of Filth or Opeth probably. I was (am?) a fanboy after all.
Most surprising - Agnes Obel. I knew she was good on record, but that live show for her Citizen Of Glass album was totally amazing an blew me away. Intimate, sincere, mixed beautifully (what else can you expect from her?), nice variety. Had it all.
Next concert - Agnes Obel, super happy I'm going to see her again! Great live artist.
Wish I'd seen - Talking Heads. Man, that would have been a night to remember. |
BenThatsMyJamin
01.28.20 | First - Life of Agony (London, 2016)
Last - Kings Kaleidoscope, London (Friday just gone)
Best - either Dillinger Escape Plan final UK tour (Cardiff, 2017) or Devin Townsend playing Ocean Machine live (Plovdiv, Bulgaria, 2017)
Worst - haven't really had any bad ones, but thought Gojira were underwhelming (London, 2019)
Loudest - Life of Agony (London, 2016) - think my first concert permanently messed up my hearing
Seen the most - Devin Townsend (6 or so times)
Most surprising - Periphery (London, 2019) - they killed it
Next - Meshuggah/Devin Townsend co-headline (with Devin playing SYL material, Luxembourg City, 2020)
Wish I'd seen - Pantera (circa '94)/Pink Floyd |
Confessed2005
01.28.20 | First Concert - Kerrang Tour (Southampton Guildhall, UK) Bullet For my Valentine were average, Hawthorne Heights were awful but Still Remains were awesome and I met Jordan Whelan which was nice.
Last Concert - I honestly cannot remember haha
Best - Converge, Reading Fez Club. They were incredible and Animosity were great too.
Worst - I haven't really had a really bad concert in all honesty.
Loudest - Meshuggah at Hellfest 2008 - I thought my chest was going to explode.
Seen the most - The Dillinger Escape Plan
Most Surprising - Local bands in Bournemouth ;)
Next - Need to see what is going on in the UK.
Wish I'd Seen - Nirvana at Reading Festival
|
nuklearmoose
01.28.20 | First Concert - Green Day (back in 2009)
Last Concert - Angel Olsen (October 2019). Oh yeah, I forgot, Tool who I also saw in October.
Best Concert - Probably Tedeschi Trucks Band (2017). They're so tight as a band and Jimmy Herring came on and the band played "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed"
Worst Concert - I think I have enjoyed every concert i've been to in some degree, but probably Deerhunter (2016). I like their music, but the concert was a little underwhelming to me.
Loudest Concert - Black Mountain. Smaller venue and I was right up front. Ears rang for a day after that
Seen the most - Strand of Oaks (3 times). Then The Tallest Man on Earth and Father John Misty (twice)
Most surprising - Animals as Leaders. Damn, they were good. It was my first impression of them too, which probably helped blow me away.
Next concert - I really want to see OM, so they might be next. If not, probably Tame Impala.
Wish I'd seen - Definitely 75-77 Pink Floyd. |

01.28.20 | @Bat Discordance Axis is a great shout, Never saw them either
@Minu ' Bad brains horribly depressing' Why?
'God I wish I went to that Have Heart show ' [2] : ; (
@Trif Id give anything to daze off into a Beth Gibbons wonderland. They played Iceland last year (or year before) but it was too expensive.
@Nuk DEFINITELY GO AND SEE OM! |
DoofDoof
01.28.20 | First Concert - Phoenix Festival 1995 / Faith No More headlined, plus Terrorvision, Paradise Lost, Bodycount, Pitch Shifter. My first gig was Pitchshifter at the Astoria as only went to gigs instead of festivals after moving to London to study.
Last Concert - this is really embarrassing, haven’t been to any gigs for about a year except..Bryan Adams because a friend had a free ticket and he was playing my home town in a small club venue. Bored to tears I was lol
Best concert - The National at Alexandra Palace in support of TWFM
Worst concert - some rock festival where it rained torrentially the whole time and after watching Tool in the rain, band were shitty, so my mate just said ‘let’s never speak of this time again’ and we bailed on it and went home.
Loudest concert - maybe Deerhunter?
Seen the most - embarrassingly probably Terrorvision, but only festival sets. Faith No More I think are next, seen them five times
Most surprising - Papa Roach were really good live
Next concert - the embarrassment continues, a buddy’s gf bought a group of us tickets to see Goo Goo Dolls. Fucking hell lol
Wish I’d seen - The The reunion tour, Nirvana at Reading

01.28.20 | First Concert - Weezer, London Astoria 1994
Last Concert - Anathema, July 2019 some theatre in Liverpool
Best Concert - AC/DC, Wembley Stadium 2009.
Worst Concert - Silver Mt Zion 2007ish, London somewhere.
Loudest Concert - Prodigy. 1997 V97
Seen the most - Blur
Most surprising - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Camden. Absolute rock ‘n roll fire.
Next concert - Fuck knows
Wish I'd seen - Nirvana |

01.28.20 | Pearl Jam I thought about but by the time I want to spend the money it’ll be sold out - if it hasn’t already. Not touting it for £150 a pop |
Scheumke
01.28.20 | First Concert - Jan Akkerman (of Focus) in 2001 I think, Else Children of Bodom in 2005
Last Concert - Devin Townsend + Haken
Best Concert - Phoeh hard one. First time I saw Dream Theater in 2007 still holds strong. Else probably Rammstein or Ne Obliviscaris, both for very different reasons.
Worst Concert - Hmm I've seen a lot of bad shows. Either Protest the Hero or Marilyn Manson. The first for their incredibly bad sound, the second for coming over just completely uninterested.
Loudest Concert - Rammstein for sure. Never been to Sun O so it'll never be as loud as it could be.
Seen the most - Dream Theater. Seen them about 7 times I think.
Most surprising - Probably either Alcest or Parkway Drive. Alcest was completely out of the blue and most welcome at the time, Parkway Drive was something I found boring on CD, but holy crap does that band deliver live. Their enthusiasm was completely infectious.
Next concert - Winterfylleth acoustic show in a pub in my hometown in 2 weeks.
Wish I'd seen - Michael Jackson. Yeah I know, I know. Still man, those shows were something. |

cylinder
01.28.20 | First concert - Aaron Carter lol (I was 6)
Last concert - GZA, the Liquid Swords anniversary
Best concert - For the feels, either The National or Ought. For the spectacle, Iron Maiden
Worst concert - The Body - they were great when I saw them open for Neurosis but at their headlining show they sounded like shit. Could barely hear the guitar over the kick drum and the whole set was just a really sloppy blur
Loudest concert - probably The Body, both times
Seen the most - Seen a few bands twice but that’s it
Most surprising - Aine O’Dwyer, the whole set was a sound art experiment, dropping ping pong balls, having folks come up and pluck a string on the harp, etc. lol
Next concert - Om
Wish I’d seen - At the Drive-In for one of the reunion shows they did before the new album came out. Plans fell through :(

Last Concert -misfits i believe
Best Concert - tough one but i'll go with pantera at red rocks on their gstk tour.
Worst Concert -kmfdm. just boring and lifeless.
Loudest Concert - the body opening for neurosis although i'm not sure loud would be the correct term
Seen the most - neurosis ainec
Most surprising - ice cube. he was playing with a bunch of metal bands and really held his own.
Next concert - not sure. opeth maybe.
Wish I'd seen - rage against the machine. had a chance to see them at red rocks when they were touring ee but didn't end of going. |

01.28.20 | Sweet. Acoustic sets in churches/chapels man..I was thinking also of the Cave In at Roadburn set a few years ago 2 weeks after their bassist died. Just Steve and adams acoustic set, in a church annex. Was absolutely heartbreaking yet life affirming and a community coming together through music. I dont like to class that as a 'best' show but nothing can compare to the emotions of that hour really. I was quite openly crying as were many others. |

I was incredibly hyped for Bad Brains. But it was clear from the opener (attitude if I am remembering correctly) that they probably shouldn't be doing this anymore. 01.30.20 | First Concert - Relient K and Mae. I was 14 I think lol.
Last Concert - Shit... it's been almost 2 years, but Circa Survive on their On Letting Go anniversary tour.
Best Concert - Porcupine Tree on their The Incident tour. I know that's not a well-loved album, but the set was almost 3 hours long including a complete playthrough of that album. It was glorious.
Worst Concert - Idk maybe the time I was dragged along to Blindside? Or maybe when I went to see Anberlin but Metro Station opened for them which was dreadful and Anberlin was kinda lame. Yeah, probably that one.
Loudest Concert - Not sure. Deftones was pretty loud iirc.
Seen the most - Steve Wilson/Porcupine tree (basically the same thing)
Most surprising - Went to see BtBAM with a friend who loves them and Intronaut opened for them. Never before have I been so blown away by live music with which I was previously unfamiliar. That was the beginning of a long a passionate love affair with Intronaut.
Next concert - Kayo Dot next month.
Wish I'd seen - Too many to list, but Opeth pre-watershed (seen them multiple times since), Underoath on the Define the Great Line reunion tour (i was living in Japan at the time), or Chelsea Wolfe when she came through town a few months ago (having a baby puts a damper on your concert going as it turns out) |

01.30.20 | I saw opeth in the mid 90s open for Morbid Angel. But I can barely remember it.
Kayo dots always a blast though Im not feeling teh new album so wonder how it will go down live. |

01.31.20 | Yes, I'm really curious what KD will end up playing since each album sort of has its own specific band and this is specifically the Blasphemy support tour. I'd be thrilled with any cuts from the last 3 albums, so my expectations are pretty low, while also maintaining that I'd shit my pants if they played anything older. |

I love that album. I’d have been as happy as a pig in shit |

01.31.20 | @zak yeah I love it too, and the live performance was transformative. Time Flies and the "jam sequence" in the middle of the album were really something else. Plus capping that off with an hour of tracks like Anesthetize and Dark Matter made it a pretty perfect night. |
