Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (discusssion)

Just returned from cinema. I had the chance to see the film in it's Greek premiere. I was waiting patiently almost two years for this moment. To witness at first hand how this once wonderful trilogy will get the final blow. I left the theater with mixed feelings. The movie is average at best. It's biggest problem is a problematic script that suffers from inconveniences, plot devices that drive the movie forward, weak characters and some of the worst dialogue I have ever seen in films (even for Star Wars's standards). I have to admit it's not as bad as The Last Jedi was, but the script and the story they've been trying to tell us from day one was completely stupid and there wasn't much that could be done to save it in the very end. I admire JJ Abrams for trying to pick a mess of a story and trying his best to give it a fitting closure but the task was so massive that I can't blame him for not succeeding. The damage was irreversible. The pace is frenetic, the scenes interchange so quickly you don't have the time to feel immersed or care about what the characters are going through. What I did like though was some fan service that Abrams tried to bring forward in order to explain some things but it was just that: fan service. Ask me ANYTHING you like. I'm willing to answer all questions. I'm going to write some things I disliked on the comment section below. DON'T read the first comment, it might kinda spoil the movie for you.
