| 5 Albums To Get On Vinyl | 1 | | The Clash Sandinista!
Spread across three sides of vinyl rather than crammed onto two CDs Sandinista! gains breathing room and each side makes sense in a thematic way that is connected by running radio skits or musical themes. | 2 | | Against Me! Reinventing Axl Rose
All those lovely colour presses give you so much choice over what version of this classic album you can watch spinning on your turntable. Cloudy Coke Bottle? Dark Blue? Swampwater Green? | 3 | | Bomb The Music Industry! To Leave Or Die In Long Island
Bomb The Music Industy! are well known for giving all their music away for free on their website, but the only way to get a hard copy of each of their albums is to track it down on a short-press vinyl. This is probably their best album and comes on a tasteful blue and black disc. | 4 | | Culture Two Sevens Clash
Listening to it on vinyl rather than on CD is a slightly different experience, with the brass parts sharpening up and a nice crackling hum in the background. Reggae music just somehow sounds nicer on vinyl. | 5 | | Metallica ...And Justice For All
Walking into HMV or looking online, Metallica albums are priced at about £15, which is faintly ridiculous. However with a bit of hunting around in cheap record shops, you can find classic Metallica albums on double vinyl between £4 and £7. This also serves the purpose of gloating over those who bought the recent vinyl re-issues! | |
