10.03.19 | As time has gone on I usually skip atonement or hours of wealth on GR. Never felt like isolation years fit so always skipped that one. The core tracks on GR are great but I can see how someone would drop the rating relative to their more consistent albums.
I look at their stuff in tiers since I’m always going back and forth on which ones I enjoy more. Up to Watershed everything is at least a 4

10.03.19 | Itwas, I believe you forgot Deliverance. I agree that tiers apply better to Opeth, than strict rankings. For me, the first three are pretty interchangeable, and so are the two after that. Then it goes as it goes.

It’s a shame the recording sessions for that album went so badly, the foundation is there for a good album but the production isn’t, and the band probably would have put in more impassioned performances of the studio sessions weren’t such a train wreck |

10.03.19 | I have their entire discog on vinyl and don't think i've ever taken Ghost Reveries out of the wrapper. I'm not sure why, but that album was such a let down to me. I've spun Deliverance, an album that I find to be mediocre Opeth, much more than I'll probably ever listen to GR. |
