White Pony

Iconic. Deftones most successful and influential album. Crisp, clear production while still retaining the Deftones signature massive and chaotic sound. Digital Bath, Change, Knife Prty, Korea. All iconic, all legendary.

Around the Fur

Sounds like my teenage years. This album is phenomenal and so much fun. A significant improvement from Adrenaline. Terry's production is warm and thick and the choruses here are catchy but still so badass. Lotion, Lhabia, BQAD, MX, the list goes on. Amazing.

Saturday Night Wrist

Overlooked in my opinion. Surprisingly solid effort considering how divided the band were. Songs like Beware and Hole in the Earth absolutely rule. Rats! and Rapture showcase some interesting heavy passages that haven't really appear again for Deftones. Bob Ezrin's production is actually amazing and cohesive. **Beware's finale is, in my opinion, the undisputed best moment in the history of heavy music.

Another overlooked album. Memorable bangers like Hexagram, Needles and Pins, and the dreamy Minerva make this album moody and dark. Bloody cape absolutely shreds. The production is thick and metallic. Very self-destructive sounding.

Diamond Eyes

Big comeback album following the loss of Chi. Great overall record with some highlights in Royal, Nick's production brings back White Pony vibes with it's clarity but it sometimes fails to capture the thickness it needs.

Koi No Yokan

Dreamy and atmospheric. This album has some bangers (GOON SQUAD RIPS) and the production sounds good but Stephen's guitars need more umph in my opinion and the thickness is still a bit missing.

Adrenaline

The first studio album after Like Linus. So much fun and some quality tunes here. Terry's mix is pretty thin though and it really sounds like a debut album haha. 7 Words, Nosebleed, Bored are all anthems of my adolescence. Love this album but it's just too undeveloped to be on top of the chart.

Gore

Really, really annoyingly bad production. The weakest songs are on here. I'm guessing it is because Stephen was all but removed from the writing process. There are still some moments that do well here like Rubicon, the finale of Phantom Bride and the first verse of Lmirl lol, but they are few and far in between. Even though this isn't my favourite I still have love for this album and can definitely listen to it. Except Doomed User, I hate that song.
