botb 07.08.19	Unreliability, being an excessive drinker or drug user to the point where it’s an issue, generally being a dick, uhhh idk most of mine are stuff you’d see once the person is in the band.
botb 07.08.19	Just make sure they come prepared, if they can’t play the parts or if they don’t learn the same way you’re teaching them stuff it’s not really worth your time if you’re trying to be serious.

Relinquished 07.08.19	hope you're a good judge of character. guys in your position would avoid what botb pointed out for sure, but lot of the time you gotta give em a chance far enough to see where to draw the line and for incompatibilities.
deathschool 07.08.19	If they keep telling you that they play guitar but always "forget" to bring one to practice, something might be off.

pjquinones747 07.08.19	We recently picked up a management and media team and are really passionate about the work we do so hopefully our tedious approach will sell how serious we are. The biggest things i want to look for outside of playing ability are: Consistency, financial reliability, communication, availability, creativity (how often they write), and personability (personable-ness?). On top of all this it's just a matter of actually liking the dude/gal. Anyone we bring on would still be subject to a trial run of shows before anything is made official too.

botb 07.09.19	I think you got a good head on your shoulders for everything. The most important thing to me was always meshing well personality wise but that’s held me back a decent amount because I’ve been stuck with dudes who were great friends and not great musicians in the past some.

onionbubs 07.09.19	dude finding people who want to commit to being in a band blows, especially because a lot of the biggest problems become apparent once they're already in the band
foxblood 07.09.19	top 10 red flags for me 1. not showing up 2. smoking whatever in the studio/practice space without asking 3. unwilling to make any compromises 4. showing up drunk 5. they don't have their own gear 6. they aren't showing clear signs of progress week to week 7. their gear is all dusty (means they never practice) 8. non-commital, or not showing signs of enthusiasm 9. they are interested in the band image and not the music 10. too annoying to spend thousands of hours with (tried a bass player that said brah 10 times in every sentence) I went through a lot of auditions for my band and ended up with two new female members, and they are some of the chillest and most highly skilled musicians I've ever seen in my life, both are pros. had to go through a lot of dunderhead deathcore idiots before settling more on jazz-experienced musicians
