artiswar 05.29.19	Seeing Hatebreed at Heavy Montreal. We had just been in like 7 moshpits which were very tame, but when Hatebreed started we just happened to be where the most aggressive pit started in the first song Destroy Everything (right in the middle of the packed crowd which was odd). It was almost the nuttiest moshpit I've ever been in, it was fucking amazing. Deadpool was crowdsurfing next to me, and there were surprisingly a bunch of tiny women in the pit which was kind of fucking terrifying at first, but the crowd was remarkably respectful even though the pit was fucking nuts. None of them really got hurt to my knowledge. A giant teddybear was bounced around and shredded almost instantly by the crowd lol. But by far the best pit I ever saw was during Napalm Death at the same festival. And I say SAW because I'm not gonna lie, I had NO part of that pit lmaoooo… I witnessed some crazy shit from the sidelines though. First of all, the people there just went absolutely fucking nuts, like it almost felt planned in a way. People kicked up so much dust it was like some Saving Private Ryan shit, I was shooting out black snot for a week after that concert. Almost everyone else in the pit had a bandana covering their nose and mouth (smart). The circle pit was insane, people were getting so aggressive it felt like a borderline riot. There was this giant Mountain-looking dude who got into a feud with this skinny, tiny athletic dude, and they were like fighting Game Of Thrones style, no joke, and at one point, the small guy did some Oberyn shit and knocked the giant guy flat on his fucking back. Dude got up and I though he was going to kill him, I kid you not, smoke and dust was everywhere and you couldn't hear anything over the wall of noise, and then the giant guy grabbed the small guy, and casually threw him over his shoulder and walked into the crowd. It was so crazy lmao.... Pretty sure that guy didn't rape him though, they were just fucking around with each other. I hope.

artiswar 05.29.19	Lol it was impossible to get into the pit for Meshuggah when I saw them if you came too late. Venue was packed like a fucking sardine can.
SpiritCrusher2 05.30.19	- lost a shoe after stage diving at a Converge gig. continued to mosh on one foot while looking for it. someone found it 10 minutes later and gave it to me, the thing was barely recognizable - probably my only negative pit experience, pretty lame one too: some imbecile started to pull my hair really hard while in the pit. I was so furious that my first instinct was to beat the crap out of him, but at the same time I just couldn't believe a grown man would actually do something like that, so I just yelled at his face like WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU MAN. haven't seen him after that - been a part of a huge circle pit that covered the entire venue @Exodus show, twas epic - can't remember much else now really. I rarely go into pits nowadays

LOVEANDACCEPTANCE 05.30.19	best pit experience: handed a 17 piece out to the surrounding individuals during no love at death grips n basically confirmed knocked a kid out lmao, straight up neanderthal shit worst pit experience: got knocked out 3 times one night during jesus piece and knocked loose respectively was also the time was pittin n divin during code orange, head got caught between a 350 lb. diver and some concrete, then proceeded to get pressed while concussed and delirious by the twitching tongues vocalist cause I told em to stop playing lol

Deathconscious 08.08.19	Once i went to a show with a friend of mine who is, ahh...idk how else to say it, but he's a little bit of a pussy. So i was trying to convince him to go into the pit with me. He didnt want to, but i told him its fairly safe and people pick each other up and whatnot. He finally agreed to go in, and as we ran in together, right away this big dude barreled through like 3 people, me being one of them, and knocked me down, just after i had convinced him it was safe. Pretty sure he saw that and aborted right away.

naughtcturnal 08.08.19	Was wearing steel toes at an Iceage show and accidentally kicked a guy (who was just sitting down on the floor outside of the pit??!!) real hard in the face. Felt real bad at first cause he was bleeding and stuff but looking back at the situation he kinda got what he deserved
Kompys2000 08.08.19	First pit I was in was at a local hardcore show, during the headliner this tall dude in cowboy boots was throwing elbows and generally being a massive chode, so I stuck my foot out and tripped him. Homie fell flat on his stomach and my buddy kicked his teeth in and I think gave him a black eye. After the show we saw him coming for us, so we jumped in the car and got the fuck outta dodge. Tbh we probably overreacted a bit but it was still pretty cool. My favorite moment in a pit was during Pig Destroyer last year, this kid clawed his way to the front of the audience and screamed "YOU'RE MY FAVORITE BAND!!!!!" before immediately getting body-slammed back into the pit. Metal AF but also kinda wholesome.
Rowhaus 11.08.19	I saw some dude get his leg snapped in half during a Nile pit. I almost yacked all over the floor it was fucking crazy. Super brutal.

botb 11.08.19	Got a couple teeth knocked through my bottom lip during Xibalba in like 2011 by one of my friends once. Watched the rest of the set and drove to patients first and got them stitched up lol. Still have a scar under my bottom lip. Got knocked out one time during a friend’s band. Saw Weekend Nachos in Baltimore and they played Black Earth and I was pitting and swung back and hit someone REALLY hard and felt them drop like a ton of bricks... looked behind me and it was like the smallest most innocent little white girl that had been obliviously just jumping around all night in the pit.... immediately stopped and dove over to her so she didn’t get stepped on and picked her up and made sure she was ok. Saw her later and she had legit the imprint of my fist in her face and was completely purple, but she was so nonchalant about it saying shit like “it’s totally fine! I should’ve been paying more attention!” Still feel so bad about that one bc I’m pretty sure I broke her orbital.

I guess he was trying to get people to move more.

Was going side to side and popped a big crew dude in the mouth but he didn’t see who did it so he just started attacking some other random kid that he thought did it and this enormous fight started as I homersimpsonsinkintobush.gif and whoever was playing had to stop until shit got figured out

botb 11.08.19	Saw #12 on their last tour I think before they initially called it quits (probably partially because of this) and got punched in the head with brass knuckles. A drunk girl threw a beer can st the guy who did it because he had been being an asshole all night and accidentally hit one of that dude’s friend’s wife and then basically a whole bunch of these dudes ran upstairs and started beating the fuck out of this group of girls. One of them broke a bottle over somebody’s head to get them off of another girl while another one of their boys was walking around with a brick in his hand just swinging it at people (by this time #12 had stopped playing and everyone was just kind of watching in horror including them). The girl that hit the dude with the bottle came downstairs and started yelling up at those dudes about how they were pussies beating up defenseless girls and then the dude who’s wife it was threw a barstool from the second story and it legit disintegrated over that girls face and she started screaming and crying and her head split over and blood started shooting out of it. Then all those dudes ran off and haven’t seen most of them since. Think a couple of them are legit on the run from hells angels for doing some wild shit. But that’s the wildest thing I ever saw at a show.

botb 11.08.19	Richmond. The vibe of that show was fucking weird, no actual “hard” bands played at all and all those dudes came to support #12 bc they were friends with Jesse and after all that happened I’m positive they didn’t speak again lol. Dude looked absolutely horrified
