Back to the Beach 2019

This coming weekend, the gods of ska and pop-punk will consume my soul as I skank for 48 consecutive hours. Huntington Beach. Anybody else going?? Here are the acts I'm most looking forward to, ranked most to least. skankin on the beach DOOT DOOT DOOT DOOOOOOO
1Less Than Jake
Hello Rockview

One of my first ska bands and probably my favorite. Never seen them before.
2Streetlight Manifesto
Everything Goes Numb

Closing in on a hard number two, these dudes are extremely talented. No frills here, just straight up sax/trombone insanity
3Reel Big Fish
Turn the Radio Off

Yet another ska classic I've never seen live. Their discography has a lot more filler (why is every fucking album 57 minutes long?) but they've got some genre staples that I'm stoked to hear live. This band can be summed up in three words: "Beer" and "Fuck you"
4Blink-182
Enema of the State

They're playing Enema of the State in full, and that's reason enough to go. Hell fuckin yeh. Wish we had the OG lineup, but this will be a helluva way to close out Saturday night.
5The Story So Far
Proper Dose

The band that truly got me into pop-punk. Seen them lots, but never on the beach (DOOT DOOT DOOT DOOOOOOO). Also their newest album kicks ass so give it a sniff
6The Wonder Years
The Greatest Generation

PLEASE don't play all of your sad songs. Not at a ska/punk fest on the beach. Great band tho, yeet it
7Goldfinger
Hang-ups

Honestly I'm not a big fan because John Feldmann is pretty much insufferable and everything he touches turns to shit nowadays, but they'll bring some good energy and Superman and Spokesman are great songs (where are the women songs? sexist assholes)
8The Aquabats
The Fury of the Aquabats!

Oh cool, ska for 5th graders. Kyle is gonna cream when they play Pool Party
9Save Ferris
Introducing Save Ferris

Only song I care about is the Come On Eileen cover
10The Used
Demos From The Basement

Bands I don't care about and/or dont plan on seeing: The Used, Story of the Year, Anthony Green (sorry). I'll watch The English Beat but apparently there are two versions of this band? And the one whose frontman just died was the British version. Very confusing.
